His British Army service ended, at least as far as records that can be found, in Jan 1889, record is here:http://www.rootschat.com/links/01pnd/   His British Army service in S Africa was in  the earlier Zulu War in 1879/80

He served in the Boer War in Loch's Horse which was essentially a South African irregular unit, information about it here: https://www.angloboerwar.com/unit-information/south-african-units/361-lochs-horse?showall=1

He died in hospital in Cape Town (record on https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBM%2FBW%2F113001 ) and the norm was that those who died were buried in S Africa, the Anglo Boer War site has a section on cemeteries and memorials.  I don't find him there though or on Findagrave or Billiongraves.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission has this on Cape Town (Maitland) cemetery:
Cape Town (Maitland) Cemetery contains 439 Commonwealth burials of the First World War and 528 from the Second World War. There are also nine war graves of other nationalities within the cemetery and over 540 non-war burials (mostly Anglo Boer war graves) in the Commission's care here. Within the cemetery stands the Cape Town (Maitland) Cremation Memorial which commemorates by name 17 casualties of the Second World War.[/i]  Only the WW1 and WW2 graves are listed.  Unless someone comes up with a positive location, it may be as well to ask advice from the CWGC South African Agency, - whether this email is current I don't know:  cwgc@mweb.co.za

Good luck

Hi,

I can provide your friend with a wealth of information and documents about Diones Daniel George Geere and his family.

For example his son Mostyn was born 1893 in Canada.

I am a distant relative if this family.

Regards
