Hello,
I'm trying to find any information on Edgar Thompson-Boyd 1863 - 1942.
Edgar was Dr (dentist) from Philadelphia who migrated to Australia with his wife, Elizabeth Ann Ogg 1876 - 1961.
Any information on these people would be greatly appreciated,

Elizabeth was born in Victoria, Australia, and they married there in 1896. Are you sure Edgar came from Philadelphia?

Thank you so much, I have articles from NLA Trove stating that Edgar Thompson-Boyd was a dentist from Philadelphia.
Im yet to be able to link him to America.
I'll look into the Ogg family, thanks again for this information.
Victorian families will be much easier to research.

Was Edgar was married previously - there are newspaper mentions of "Dr and Mrs E Thompson Boyd" from at least 1893

There is a death of Amy Thomson Boyd in 1896 age 52 in Vic (8783/1896) - a possibility, though the age is older than I would have expected?

He married Elizabeth OGG and child Gladys born pretty quickly if Amy was his previous wife. :-\

Just on the off chance...
The S.S. Makura sailing from Sydney to arrive at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 27 August 1915 had a 53 year old dentist called Thompson Boyd on board, he was described as a visitor from Melbourne, nearest relative was Mrs Boyd, his wife, of 'Caulfield, Melbourne, Aus', and his nationality/race was given as Scotland/Scotch.

I am unsure if he was previously married, but perhaps Amy was his mother or aunt?
She would have been about 19 / 20 years older than him.
I believe it may have been Edgar on the SS Makura as the dates would make him the right age!.
The Thompson Boyd's lived in Melbourne.

Makura sailing from Sydney to arrive at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 27 August 1915 had a 53 year old dentist called Thompson Boyd on board, he was described as a visitor from Melbourne, nearest relative was Mrs Boyd, his wife, of 'Caulfield, Melbourne, Aus', and his nationality/race was given as Scotland/Scotch.
Just also noticed on the second page of the manifest that he gave his birth place as Glasgow. He also says that he last visited the United States 15 years previously (Pennsylvania). What looks like might be the same man then sailed from New York to Britain in September 1915, before sailing from Britain to Australia in October 1915.
