Where have you looked already yourself - to save any duplication of effort? And where did you get the information about a pauper's grave?

Where does your information about his date and place of burial come from.  Where was he living in 1901

Deceasedonline has a burial record for a Patrick Morris, buried 31 December 1902 in Cheshire.

Could this be your man?  You will need to buy credits to get more details.

It is likely he was in the Chester Union Workhouse on Hoole Lane. If you go to Google Streetview and the junction of Hoole Lane and Housesteads Drive you can see the former Chapel. The Workhouse graveyard was in the grassed area. Being paupers, nobody had a gravestone.  In recognition of this, a commemorative gravestone was laid there. If you email me, I can send you a picture and an article about it. On Streetview you will see the curved brick wall and you can just make out the gravestone lain flat behind it. If he was in a different Workhouse, I am afraid I don't have any detail.

The 1901 census shows he was in the Hoole Workhouse.
You can see the graveyard on this map https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=17&lat=53.19722&lon=-2.86915&layers=168&right=BingHyb

I wonder if he was the same Patrick Morris (of Steven Street) who was found helplessly drunk in The Groves on Saturday at 11am - Cheshire Observer 08 December 1900
He was locked up for his own safety and fined 5s and costs

" From 1880 – 1900 the deaths of 1,350 people were recorded in the burial register. . By 1900 the burial ground was full" according to http://www.hoolehistorysoc.btck.co.uk/HooleSocialWelfare/ChesterUnionWorkhouse

Ah, so the deceasedonline entry may be the only place to find a 1902 burial site. Nibbs may be able to buy a few credits.

There's the St Werburgh catholic church entry, but why would it be on deceased online?
Is it a burial, or just a note of the death/burial of a parishioner? Image may be on findmypast?

Is it a burial, or just a note of the death/burial of a parishioner?

Looks like it was the latter!
Well found Pauline.

Just to add that the Chester Union Workhouse in Hoole became Chester City Hospital in 1948. This was in use until the 1990s. These sites might be of interest:
