Title: Tracing Evans and Davies family around Pontypridd Wales Circa 1906
Post by: Mazilby on Sunday 05 July 20 15:45 BST (UK)
1901 census to find Edward Davies and his parents William Davies (mother unknown) possibly living Pontypridd Glamorganshire. Need this information to trace ancestors.
Have just found in 1911 census showing Edward and wife and family in Caerau, Glamorganshire. and if he was born about 1875 there were four in the census aged 35 and 36 living in Glamorganshire. I would like to know which one he was to get birth certificate to find his parents facts.
Thank you for your help.

Who  did Edward Davies marry?

Do you have his marriage certificate?

Occupation of Edward & father William

Have you looked on 1939 Register to see if you can find him there this would give you his date of birth?

Edward Davies married Elizabeth Ann Evans, widow of Samuel Evans (but no date of death) in 1906 at Pontypridd. Edwards father was William Davies but no mother mentioned.
Do not have occupations.
What is the 1939 register?

What is the 1939 register?

https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2836130
From above..........collection contains records from the 1939 National Register, taken in England and Wales on September 29, 1939......
1939 Register is not a census, it is arranged along similar lines and includes similar information. It does, however, show exact dates of birth, while census returns simply give a person’s age.
Individuals’ records remain closed for 100 years from their date of birth or until proof of death is produced. Closed records will be blanked out in the search results

Yes I have his wife as Martha Davies and Edward being aged 3. So born 1878 not 1875, marriage record must have wrong age.

1911 gives his age as 38 so born 1872/3.

If you have William's age from the marriage, do you have the occupation of William and Edward's address. Names of witnesses?
