Title: Sally Gara Doherty, Glencolmkille, Donegal
Post by: Anseo on Tuesday 07 July 20 09:05 BST (UK)
This is my Grandmother, Sally Gara, who went on to have 10 children. She married Patrick Doherty in 1904 and I am guessing that this photograph was taken around this time. The original is very feint and I would appreciate if Sarah could emerge from the photo with a bit more clarity. Thank you, Ita

One from me. She doesn't appear to be wearing a wedding ring, but she does seem to have an engagement ring on a cord around her neck.

Well spotted Trishanne. The detail in your restoration is incredible. Perhaps it was an 'Engagement' Photo, and yes, I have seen that ring, or one similar. Thank you so much. Ita
