Title: Date please, yet another CdV by McAllen of Hexham
Post by: JenB on Wednesday 08 July 20 18:06 BST (UK)
I am slowly working my way through my undated McAllan CdV's.

I wonder if this one is late 1870's?

Help appreciated, please  :)

It looks mid 1870s to me, but I can't see enough of the front of the dress.

Oh dear - now I'm confused. It has lots of elements of 1880s as well. The front of the skirt is a bit too plain for late 1870s. The back is late 1870s into 1880s. I think this strange world we live in has got to me  :-X :-X :-X

I hope that the other two will come along soon.

My guess would have been early 80s...the dress looks like it could have been altered or home made.

There was a crossover of dress styles from 1870-1880.
The late 1870 styles & early 1880 styles are pretty identical.
My suggestion would be 1878-83.
