Hi,
Dr. Thoreau Willard O'Mulvenny's obituary is in the Globe and Mail newspaper on 15 Feb 1979, page 58. It says he died at the Welland General Hospital on 11 Feb. 1979. Husband of Muriel (Patterson) O'Mulvenny. In his 76th year. Brother of Mrs A T Minnes (Ena) of Vineland, Ontario. Interment St. Thomas Cemetery Mausoleum.
There is no mention of any children, and no mention of Irene.

Thoreau was married prior to Irene....found a divorce for Florence Gertrude O'Mulvenny and Thoreau Willard O'Mulvenny in Sept 1943.

I can see Irene with Thoreau on the 1963 voters list. In 1968, they are not living together, but she is still using the surname O'Mulvenny.
I would assume that this means that Thoreau and Irene separated between 1963 and 1968. A marriage for Irene to ? Gibson would have been after 1968.
No children were mentioned in Thoreau's obituary.
