Hi everyone I'm looking for information on these family members,
Edith Trussell married Mr John William Clarke in Ilkeston, Derbyshire /notts 1904, they had a baby girl in 1910 named Edith Clarke.
I'm not sure if they were still together when their child Edith was born or if they separated shortly after.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks Claire

Thanks for the info! The Edith I'm looking for only had the one child with Mr Clarke that I am aware of.
But I will keep this in mind in case I am incorrect! Every bit of info is useful so thank you. Its a very interesting read .

There are 3 Clarke/ Trussell births registered in Basford 1904-1908
1904 Gladys Frieda
1906 Eric Walters
1908 Evelyn
These 3 children are with a John William Clark and his parents in 1911

Think you'll find that these 3 children were indeed Edith's but that John and Edith had already separated by the time the youngest Edith was born and that she kept this child with her. John is shown as married (which of course he still was) and that he had 4 children!!! 'Missing' child would be baby Edith - do you know where both Edith's were in 1911? What became of Edith senior?
Times were different then, and if the couple separated but she kept the youngest (probably born after the separation) her husband may not have allowed her to have any communication with the older children and if she never referred to them later you would only be aware of the youngest Edith who stayed with her.
