Title: Meldrum, East Stonehouse
Post by: Lindyloowho on Friday 17 July 20 00:50 BST (UK)
Can anyone find William Meldrum, b. 1802, Bishopwearmouth, County Durham, in the 1841/51census for East Stonehouse, with wife Eliza?
He is in the Royal Navy.

Thank you.

Linda

This looks like Eliza and son William in 1841 at Kenwyn, Cornwall:

Henry Tucker        40
Elizabeth Tucker   40
William Tucker      16
Robert Tucker      14
Eliza Tucker         10
Elizabeth Tucker    6
Mary Searle         20
Eliza Mildrum       30
William Mildrum    5
H0107/147/64 pg15

I note that Eliza has sister Mary TUCKER with her in 1851 at Ross St, Stoke Damerel
Elisa Meldrum           43    Bermondsey, Surrey (widow, annuitant)
William Meldrum       17    Stoke Damarel, Devonshire (shipwright app)
Louisa Meldrum          6    Portsea, Hampshire
Mary Tucker  Sister   46    Stoke Damarel, Devonshire  (seamstress)
H0107/1882 / 592 pg64

Am assuming this is the correct family? Son William Henry baptised 5 June 1834 at East Stonehouse and Louisa Augusta Jane baptised 6 Oct 1844 at Portsea.

Many thanks to you both.  I realized after I posted I could have found the census info on Familysearch ???
However I didn’t find Eliza in 1841.

Did find an Edmund Augustus Meldrum, abode Ross Street, Stoke Damerel, buried March 1847, aged 8 months, so presumably another son.

Also found Stoke Damerel deaths for Eliza, 4 1/4 1851, W.H. 2 1/4 1852, and Louisa 3 1/4 1858. Presuming they are the correct family, how sad.
