Title: Thomas and Honora McMahon

This is a 1880 US census of relatives of mine. I'm having trouble finding more info. They were both born (can't narrow down births for either of them), married (Honoras maiden name is Nihill) and had 1 child (Dennis McMahon) in Ireland then I'm sure they all moved to US after Dennis was born so any subsequent children would of been born in the US. However, I can't find them! I'm sure they must of had other children as, as per the census above, Thomas H McMahon is Thomas' grandson but Dennis did not have a son called Thomas.
Could anyone possibly help?

Not sure-is this the death for "that" Honora?

Maybe not the couple you were looking for?

This shows the image for the death record for the Honora who died 1883.    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6PS9-YQY?i=367&cc=1463156&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AN7GD-HPT  Not much more information than the link above, but it said she resided in Brimfield.

do you have the Irish birth records from the parish registers for this family? a marriage for Thomas and Honora? When was Dennis born? When did they emigrate? What part of Ireland?
can you post that info if you have it?

------------
died in Ware, Massachusetts, 7 July 1884
Thomas McMahon, age 10y 4m, born in Ware, parents Michael, born in Ware, and Margaret, born in Chicopee
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NWCD-MH6

-----
married in Ware, Massachusetts, 31 December 1872
Michael McMahon, 21, a carpenter, born in Hardwick MA, parents: Thomas and Honora
Margaret Mcnane, 20 something, born in Chicopee, parents: Philip and Margaret
both living in Warren, MA, when married, 1st marriage for both, married by L G Gagnier/Gassonier ?, French Catholic priest

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NWTW-NV4

the marriage was registered in Warren, MA also, since at least one of the parties lived there. The dates on the Warren records vary, 27 Dec 1872, 31 Dec 1873, for example.
But they give the mothers' maiden names. Michael's mmn was "Malone". Margaret's mmm was "McGraph".

------------
There is a small tree, mainly for Michael and Margaret here:
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/M1TQ-D6H

It names a brother John Mcmahon, said to have been born in Ireland in 1844, and married in 1873 in Dundas, Ontario. John's parents' names on his marriage record are Thomas and Hanna Mcmahon, so maybe so, but these are all common names. Unless you can find John with his parents in US/Canada, I'd be slow to count him as a son.

-------------
a possible daughter to Thomas and Honora, if you count Mahon and McMahon as the same name. her  parents' given names and location are a match.

married in Ware, Massachusetts 24 December 1865
Catharine Mahon, 22, born in Ireland, parents: Thomas Mahon and Honora
James Ryan, 20, born in Ireland, parents: James Ryan and Catharine
both living in New Braintree when married

this might eliminate Catherine Mahon as a possibility. You'd think she'd still be at home at age 16.

1860 Census, Ware Massachusetts (Ware Post Office)
Thomas McMahon, 30, farm laborer
Hannah, 30, carder
Michael, 9, born in Massachusetts

same page:
John McMahon, 40, farm laborer, born in Ireland
with a Mary Maloney, 23, in the household
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MZCD-ZK7

-----
1865, Ware
Thomas, 40, born in Ireland, legal voter [so therefore a citizen by this date]
Hannah, 35
Michael, 14, born in Ware
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQCD-NTM

-------------
maybe them, maybe not:
1870 Census, Ware
Thomas McMahon, 53, works on railroad, citizen
Ann, 51
Michael, 20, works in cotton mill
but all born in Ireland
in the same household as a Ryan family.

it is one image after where this link goes:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MD3Z-9RW

------------
died in Ware, MA, 16 July 1897
Thomas McMahon, 66, widowed, laborer, parents: Michael [McMahon] and Margaret Casey, cause: heart disease
buried St William's Cemetery, Ware

there are a couple Maloneys on the same page. It's a common name, but did some of Hanora's family emigrate to the same place? worth looking into.

lots of McMahons in Old Saint William's Cemetery, but not Thomas or Honora

was he from Limerick?
Petition of Naturalization
Court of Common Pleas, Northhampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts
3rd Monday of October, 1856
Thomas McMahon, of Ware, in said county, was born on or about 15 May 1828, and is now about 28
arrived in Boston on or about 28 October 1849,
[some previous paperwork, his declaration of intention, I think] was filed in Police Court, city of Worcester, dated October 5, 1853.
He has lived in Ware ever since that date.
his witnesses, Samuel F Spaulding, and Richard Clancy, say he has lived in Ware for the past 5 years.

He was admitted as a citizen 29 October 1856

since you left a link to ancestry in post 1, here is the link to this record:

and maybe all of this is not your family. This Hanora's maiden name was Maloney, and yours was Nihill. And I didn't find any trace of a Dennis McMahon in Ware or the area.

These are Thomas' and Honora's marriage and Denis' birth.
Honestly that's all I have of Thomas and Honora for definite. It's hard to narrow down the exact year they emigrated without their dobs but it looks like it was in the 1850s for sure.

Then the couple in Ware, Massachusetts, is not the same family. The Ware Honora's maiden name is Maloney, and the Ware Thomas was from Co. Limerick, not Co. Clare.
