Title: Salvation Army List of Treforest Branch
Post by: boycefamilytree on Wednesday 24 August 05 19:48 BST (UK)
I have obtained an Transcribed a List of Salvation Army members and visitors list for the Treforest Branch which was in the building situated behind the Otley Arms Public House in Treforest , Pontypridd.

I will happily look thru it if you think your family member was anything to do with the Salvation Army there.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.  My grandad was from Williamstown which is in the Rhondda Valley.  I believe he moved to Aldershot in Hampshire around 1940.

Thank you dave for you help.  I will try the heritage centre.

Thanks again

Please could you look for : PROTHERO PROTHEROE.
My late Grandmother , Ann PROTHERO born 1890 in Merthyr Tydfil.  (Played the tambourine).
Married in 1909 to an 'outsider' so left.  Moved round that area a bit and had family in Pontypridd.

If you find of her Married name let me know .

I will keep a note of what you found, sure there will be a connection. If not might help someone else.

Thanks a lot for your look-up

PS : Just noted your interest in the surname Coombs etc

A Mary COMBS was the Witness to David Charles Smiths Parents Wedding in Llanelly Brecon.

Hi my name is Leanne Perry.
I know this will be a long shot that i'll receive a reply due to this being posted over 10 years ago.
I'm just wondering if you still have this list and whether you would be able to see my great grandparents and give me any details as I believe they were army officers at Treforest around 1938-1942 area and they were also officers in Bridgend however I am unsure which came first. Their names were Major William Birtwistle (Known as Jack Birtwistle however it is unknown which name it is documented as) and Major Ivy Birtwistle. There may also be a record of my great uncle Warick Jeffery Birtwistle and my grandmother Audrey Birtwistle. If you would be able to find out I would truly be ever so grateful.
Best Regards
Leanne

Hello,
My mother's family were Salvationists in Treforest.  I wonder if you can check their name for me.  My grandparents' surname was Cole.

Thank you very much.

Hi,
Will look over the next few days cant remember what info I have.

I'm unsure if this thread is still going, but found out my ancestor would've been in the Treforest salvation branch as the Blood and Fire standard bearer. I know he was associated roughly between the 1880s all the way to 1929 where they partook in his funeral, as gained from newspaper clippings.

Wondering what information they have for a Robert Hayman? It might be R. Hayman or R.W Hayman as his middle name was William.

Long shot given the dates on this thread, but thanks nethertheless :)
