Hi, does anyone have any views on the Genealogy Bank Website as a family history research tool?
I currently subscribe to Ancestry and Find My Past, which are pretty tried and tested, but wondered about signing up to the Genealogy Bank Website as an additional resources and the pros and cons of doing so.
There are so many family research sites out there, but always interested to hear about other people's experiences before committing to something new.
Many thanks

I used to be a subscriber some years ago. Isn't it just a US newspaper archive ?

Or do you mean The Genealogist?

had not heard about it so did some searching.

Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of complaints filed about GenealogyBank.com regarding a few issues. First, many people do not realize that the 30 day trial period is not free - you will be charged but you are eligible for a refund if you cancel during that period.
Customers are also unhappy that the resources of the website seem to be a lot more limited in scope and quality than the website leads their customers to believe.
Think i would give it a miss

Many thanks for all replies.
It's definitely called Genealogy Bank, apparently covering a lot of newspapers, obituaries etc.
Does anyone know of the best way to specifically access old New Jersey newspapers?
Thanks

Perhaps take a look at Newspapers.com instead https://www.newspapers.com/papers/#p_place=NJ

Many thanks, I'll check that out.

I think pretty much every subscription site has some complaints related to free trials, not stopping the subscriptions soon enough, etc. I haven't heard that Genealogy Bank is particularly bad.
I think the best site for you may depend on the area of New Jersey you're researching. This site gives a long list of what newspapers are available and where - https://www.theancestorhunt.com/blog/new-jersey-online-historical-newspapers-summary#.XxmmAxJ7mUk Some of them will provide some limited results on free searches, so you can see if your people are likely in those papers or not.
