I'm trying to make the link between a member of the Bassett family of Cople and a member of a family called Hugtenburg.
So far I have this:
John Bassett & Hannah (nee Armstrong, b1806 in Cople) wed and had a daughter, Mary, born in Bedford in 1835. At some point following this union, a family called Hugtenburg wed into one of these families.
Can anyone help?
Cheers,
Bob

Have you found a marriage on freebmd?
Please give some info on "Hugtenburg". Male or female? Christian name and birthyear/birthplace?
Any census info?
www.freebmd.org.uk
In 1851 John & Hannah were living in Dorset with 6 children - so where have you found a connection to Hugtenburg?
The only instances of that surname are this century

I don't know when the connection occurred, Carole. It was via an autosomal DNA contact, so very possibly too recent to be searchable.
I'll trawl through my old emails & see if i can find anything else.
Cheers,
Bob
PS Just found out that some emigrated to NZ and Australia, so guess that is where the answer lies

Found a NZ link and an email address for the Hugtenburg family I'm interested in.
Thanks all for your input - the Dorset census link helped me in my search!
Thanks for the help,
Cheers,
Bob
