Hi,
Looking for the parents of Lewis Williams who marries Gwladis (Gladys) Charlet Evans in 1905 Pontypridd, Glamorgamshire, Wales.
Lewis died 24/3/1935 East Glamorgamshire, Wales. Lewis was possibly born between 1885 & 1888 Nelson Wales?
Gwlais Charlet (Gladys Charlet) died 13/9/1969 . Who were Gwladis (Gladys parents)
1911 Census Wales have Lewis & Gladys, married sub district Eglwysilan, Pontypridd.
Lewis born @ Lammorganshire & Gladys born Gilwen Monmouthshire.
Who were their Parents ?
Cheers

Do you have a copy of their marriage cert showing their respective fathers names?
Can you include details of Gladys’s birthyear. Her full birthdate should be on her death registration but I cannot see a death in 1969 matching the various spellings given
Did she remarry?
-
According the the free 1911 census on FamilySearch:
Gladys born c1888 in Gilwen, Monmouthshire
Lewis born c1888 in Nelson, Glamorganshire
-
Where did you get the info that they married in 1905? No Lewis Williams marriage to a Gladys Evans and if you look at the 1911 image it shows married 3yrs?
Where did you get her maiden name of Evans from?
-
There is a marriage in Pontypridd June qtr 1908 which has a Lewis Williams & Charlotte Gladys Davies on the same page
-
Is this the child in the 1911?

Summing up but please read replies above
No marriage between a Lewis Williams/Gladys Evans - Where did Evans come from?
No Gladys Williams death in 1969 so did she re-marry?
Have you found her on the 1939 register - full birthdate please from either the register or her death registration
Marriage cert needed for fathers names as there are several Lewis Williams in the same age range

Morning Carole, K Garrad, McKha489, Rosiie
The information I was given by my sister-in law who's mother was Florence Hilda Williams, (was know as Hilda.) Lewis & Gwladis Charlotte were my sister-in- law grandparents.
Yes Gwladis was married after Lewis Died as info from Rosie99.
Florence Hilda was also married twice. She move to Devon.
My sisiter- in -law is 80yrs of age, and just wanted to know who her ggrand-parents were.
So the Evans may not be Gwladys . But in 1911 Census there is a Annie Mary Evans Servant age 14 born Treharris, Glamorganshire. This may be where the Evans came form.
There are so many Williams, Davis(Davies) & Evans surnames in Wales.
Cheers,

Morning,
Thank you to you all for the information.
I have ordered Gwlays Charlotte Davies birth certificate.
I can't find Gwladys Charlotte on the 1891 census. If its just under Gwladys, there are so many possibilities.
Cheers

Could someone help please .

I can't find Gwladys Charlotte on the 1891 census. If its just under Gwladys, there are so many possibilities.
This is why the first step is to see the 1908 marriage certificate for Lewis and Charlotte/Gwladys. It should give the names and occupations of both fathers so that you can find the correct census entries.

Good Morning All,
I have Gwladys Charlotte Davies Birth Certificate.
Born 9 May 1884 Oak Street, Aberystruth, Bedwellty, County of Monmouth.
Her parents were Mary Ann Davies, mmn Mathews & William Davies
I will now order Gwladys & Lewis marriage certificate. (should have done this first)
In my searching I did find Mary Ann Mathews & William Davies on family search, but the certificate

Hi Osprey,
Yes, on the marriage certificate William Davies occupation is Farmer. The residence of Charlotte is Top Hill Cottage, Nelson, Glamorgan.
Interesting: on the Birth Certificate: Gwladys Charlotte Davies, and on the Marriage Certificate is Charlotte Gwladys Davies. Gwladys father is William Davies, occupation Haulier.
Wiilams father maybe John Davies, , labourer.
There is a John Davies on 1891 census (Family Search) Top Hill, Tea Dealer age 72.
The ages people on the cenus seem to vary quite a bit.

I am confused. Is Gwladys’ father a Farmer or a Haulier?
Is occupation the same on marriage and birth?
-
do you have the census ref for the John Davies in 1891?
-
Morning.
Gwladys Charlotte Davies, father William is a Haulier on her Birth Certificate.
Charlotte Gwladys Davies, father William is a Farmer on the Marriage certificate.
Seems Gwladys prefers Charlotte, as she has got older, or is it her!!
