Title: Wingrave, parish records
Post by: mentmore on Wednesday 29 July 20 23:05 BST (UK)
Hi

Does anyone have access to Wingrave, Buckinghamshire parish register? I'm looking for a baptism and marriage for an Emma Coleman born about 1886 married 1905.

Thanks

1891 Emma is with her Grandparents as you probably know;
John Coleman   60
Ann Coleman   60
Sarah Coleman   18
Emma Coleman   4

Also in 1901 with her Grandfather who appears to have remarried.

1871 Census
John Colemon   40
Ann Colemon   41
William Colemon14
Alfred Colemon   11
Arthur Colemon   9
John Colemon   5
Millicent Colemon 4
Selina Colemon   3****

My instinct is that Selina is her Mother and she married 1 Jul 1889 to William RICKARD.

1891 they are under Ricka in Anc.

Selina died 1899

They had 3 children.
1901 Census
William Rickard   32
Ellen O Rickard   12
Laura Rickard   10
Geo W Rickard   7

Birth Cert will confirm if I'm right :)

Hello amondg and trish1120

Thank you both for answering my request.

I did see that in the GRO register no mother's maiden name given so was hoping for a bap date possible Wingrave for Emma as usually it will give mothers name even if she is unmarried.

I have wondered who Emma's mother is, either Millicent Jane or Selina, I think Millicent, would like to know for sure.

Thanks

Well if no one can find a Bapt unfortunately the Birth Cert is the only way to confirm her Mother.

Hi Trish

I may be in touch with Bucks FHS, I am a member, to see if they can look at the bap. records to find Emma's mother.

Thanks
