Hi
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me decipher or confirm a word in this extract from the 1691 will of Thomas Greenfield of Billingshurst.
So far I've been able to make out most of it, bar one word. I believe it says
"Item I give and bequeath unto my loving cousin Daniel Greenfields sonn of Daniel Greenfield of ....."
Then I'm stuck on the next word [the following part is ok]. It looks like it might be Mulley or Musley but I've never heard of those. Equally it could be Mussey but again I'm unsure.
Does anyone have any idea what that word is?

On second glance, and after comparing it to a few names and other words it might be "Musley".
I think there is a small loop on the top of the fourth letter which I think confirms that as an "l" [compare it with the name "Elliott"] and the third letter is not that dissimilar to the "s" in other parts of the will.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Actually it is Mulsey. The longest letter - that which goes beneath the line - is the s.
Compare to house and Elliot.

Also it is: ...loveing Cosens...
So Thomas Elliot is also a cousin.

Thanks for that. Now I look closer I can see what you mean about the "s" but originally I was only looking at a small print out so I must have missed the difference between that the "l".
Opps I should have put cousins [cosens] in my original as that's what I wrote in my notes.

Mulsey Farm is on the west side of the A29 Stane Street approx half way between Brinsbury College to the north and Gay Street Lane to the south. It appears to be associated with the race horse sanctuary and according to Google part of the Brinsbury College set up.
Mulsey Farm's postal address is North Heath which is immediately to the south of Gay Street Lane.
