Hi I am trying to trace the location of a house in Duddington. It was known as "The Cottage" from 1861 to 1931 but I think it may have changed its name after that.
I was close to the house of jabez Sharpe and rather than a cottage as we would expect today it was probably a more substantial house.
on possibility is Braddan House but that is listed as previously known as Braddan or the old Dowry House.
Does anyone knowof "The Cottage" in Duddington?
thanks
John

Have you looked at its place in the 1911 census summary book?

Possibly the large house to the right of "139" in this map:

Yes Shaun
This ties in with my view that Braddan House is “the cottage” which means that RCHM and Heritage England have sone factual inaccuracies about this house.
