Hello. I am searching for information on my grandmother and believe I found her living at an address in Glasgow in 1923. I was hoping someone can tell me what the initials D, E, and G... mean that is printed on left side of some of the names on the Electoral Registers for Burgh of Glasgow. Thanks kindly for any help.

They refer to the different elections that the voter was entitled to participate in
D was (i think) qualification to vote by dint of spouses occupation
E Not entitled to vote in Parliamentary elections
G local elections only

D Spouse's occupation qualification
E not entitled to vote in local or parliamentary elections
G Citizen of Europe, entitled to vote in local elections only

Thanks for adding to your post after I had posted my reply. It makes it look as though I have ignored your post.

I am sorry and did not mean to make my thank you to both replies look that way to anyone and apologize if it did. This is only the second time I have used Rootschat and I am still learning how it works, in particular when responding to posts.

I was referring to Falkryn’s posts not yours
