Good afternoon
I am still quite new to Scottish records. Is is possible to look up the details of a marriage in 1847, please?
Reuben Brotherton and Ann Whiteford - 15 May 1847 Neilston, Renfrewshire
Reuben Brotherton born 1790 in Stockport has been linked to this marriage.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
Kind regards
Amanda

Yes, the marriage is on Scotlands People website. It's pay to view.

Reuben Brotherton, 40, dyer, b. England
Ann, wife, 32, b. Abbey, Renfrewshire
and children by a former marriage, all born in England:
Carolin, 28, warehouse girl
John, 20, dyer
Marryam, 15, warehouse girl
Charles, 13, dyer

Wow ;D that's brilliant, thank you. I lost the family after 1841 and didn't consider them moving to Scotland though it does seem to be a family trait. So with that it also confirms Charles's marriage in an earlier post.
Thank you. ;D ;D ;D

Another thread about the same family https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=835560

The link doesn't work.
Amanda, you need to register to use the Scotland's People site, then choose Advanced Search then Church registers and create your search for banns and marriages, Brotherton, 1847. But don't expect the marriage record to be very informative.
You can get the names of Reuben's parents from his death certificate (see your previous thread) in the Statutory registers.
