hi, another military puzzle... I hope you can help with.
both men are supposed to have served in WW1, one is believed to be named on the Ypres Menim Gate. not sure of unit or battle that resulted in death.
Charles H Winsor 19 on 1901 census
George H Winsor 17 on 1901 census.... father was Charles, mother was Susanna
seek help with military service history, medals, regiment/unit, death.

date to France is given 6 March 1915, the battalion had been in France for couple of months.
His pension card is on the Fold 3 element of Ancestry

follow up question.....if Charles was a driver in R.E. ….driver of what and how did he die

George was the Royal Engineer and there is no record of his death in the war.
So if it is George we are talking about - don't know - it depends on which branch of the Royal Engineers he served in. If he was in a Field Company (the most numerous), of their 217 officers and men, they had 37 drivers to look after their 76 horses There are very few men with numbers near to him for whom records can be found, I found some that were field company men Some other types of company also had horses given that almost all the kit needed by all of them was horse drawn.
