Was so tired last night, put the light out a bit earlier than usual, Woke earlier today as a result but I didn't feel very energetic. There are days when I get waves of anxiety, they don't always last long but sometimes I don't know what's brought it on and then it just goes away again.
.
Went for my walk via the direct route, back the same way. It was really warm out and quite sunny. When I got home I put my chair and parasol out.
While making lunch I cooked some salmon and prepared some of the ingredients for a salad so that I wouldn't have a lot to do for a meal after my walk with my friend J tonight. After lunch I sat out in the sun reading, it got really hot and I could have nodded off. Stirred myself and cut the lawn, did a bit of deadheading, that was it as far as gardening was concerned.
Had a shower before going to meet my friend J, it was still really warm. We walked down to the coast road, she reminded me of what it had been like the last time we'd walked that way, we nearly got blown off our feet. Today it was really still, the sea was like a millpond. Back home, had the salmon and salad, strawberries again for dessert. Had to empty the dishwasher before I could refill it. Watched some TV, feeling tired then realised it's bin day tomorrow so had to go and put it out on the street. Feeling quite exhausted, need an early night, probably won't end up that way.
Hope everyone has had a good day, I read all yesterday's posts with interest but felt too hot and lethargic to post any further comments.

A pretty good day, washing drying even as I pegged it out.
Made a pizza base mix , had got some of that irritating galabanana Mozzarella
, had some sauce frozen in portions, so pizza and salad for tea.
Deadheading all the time , And some big seeds on the nasturtiums but will wait to let some ripen to keep for next year.
Perennial Sweet peas getting very high and seed pods -like garden peas -get nipped off but again will keep some on to ripen in a few weeks.
Have promised neighbours some to plant for next year.
Just can’t stay out of the garden ,such a sun trap.
Amended Tesco delivery but must do it again ,forgot yoghurts !
Oh my hair! Really can’t do anything with it now.Past rollers !
Daughter sent photo of Flash Harry in his uniform, he is so like his Daddy, not so much in looks but their ears are exactly alike and both have almost quarter to three feet ! My neighbour used to watch for them going down my path ,two Charlie Chaplins, Daddy in front and tiddler behind with feet at exactly the same angles.
Big black bruised chin.
I got him a battery driven toothbrush , with those little aliens things on the handle.
He is afraid at the moment to brush his teeth as his chin is sore ,the new brush might tempt him.
Looking in the new Lakeland catalogue ,lovely stuff for my grand daughter who is getting orders for celebration cakes and unusually flavoured brownies.
Not had any requests yet for those. in The Vicar of Dibley, Branston pickle
with taramasalata!
I want an icing nozzle that does twirls like roses , although I don’t
bake anything like as much as I used to do.
My Christmas, celebration cake recipe us from the old Spillers Albatross Flour
recipe book.
The book was free with labels and my Mum got me one just before I got married ,free with labels .
You should see it,an utter disgrace!!I got so many stains on that page!
But they are records of family Christenings, 21st Birthdays, Christmases,
Weddings, silver,,ruby, gold weddings .
Friends from work, their leaving parties etc etc.
If I ever run out of food I could manage for a week on the stains ,black treacle, eggs, spices, butter, brandy ——-.
Mind you ,there have always been children “ helping “ and a husband who like a child loved all the Christmas preparations as his mother did not bake like that.Just Apple pies.
No plans for tomorrow except the kitchen needs a good “ bottoming”and a bit of ironing to do.
I have never made a cake with Flash Harry, he does help his Mummy cook and his Daddy is handy too, but I have to remember all that is for my daughter and his other grandma .
I had my turn with my children and grandchildren.
Well Inspector Morse on later ,meanwhile Joachim Cortez, the Gypsy Flamenco dancer will be rattling away , all sultry and sweaty but his feet moving soooo fast!

Oh my it has been hot today.... in fact it still is!
I'm very envious of you Viktoria having sweet peas and nasturtiums in your garden and seeds for next year too... wonderful.
Your recipe book sounds a bit like one I inherited full of stains on the favourite pages.... I suppose Christmas will be here before we know it and I shall need to get started on making my Christmas cards next month...
couldn't believe my craft magazine came today and it's full of stuff to make for Christmas.... hope FH likes his toothbrush... our two have got that variety!
Glad you had a nice walk Roobarb and a relax in the garden, hope your anxiety has passed now too.... we've got one of those weather stations and the sensor is outside the front door... well it's not sending the outside temp to the station think it's just saying phew it's far to hot!
Was awake early and it was already hot... in fact it was hot all night... windows wide open trying to catch a breath of air... none to be had.. read for a while...
After breakfast had a shower to cool down and got things ready for girls ( neighbours/friends) coming for coffee...
They arrived bearing gifts... jigsaw for OH, apples, victoria plums and green gages... looks like I'm going to be busy!
We sat under the trees in the shade on the lawn to try and stay cool... lovely to sit and natter... by the time they left it was lunchtime...
Had a wander down the village to drop off lottery money to friend who'd won on Saturday... was hoping to see her and hear all about her hol in Tresco... think she was out though..
Decided the coolest place was in my work room at the front of the house, windows open and fan on.... sadly first job was pressing the red face coverings so took new board cover off as don't want red dye on that too... finished them all off... quick count got 146 done just some black to do then more cutting out...
Before our Zoom investment club meeting we had BBQ' sausages and salad.. to hot really to eat much..
Took laptop into the dining room as it's the coolest room... meeting was only 45mins long as none of us wanted to chat much!
Watched some tv...Irish naturalist with double barrel surname.... can't think but he's very good it was his second programme on wild life in Cuba...
had message from Admin girl Sammy, thought she might have been away as not heard from her so I've not contacted her... anyway looks like we'll meet up on Thursday evening.
Was due to meet up for our book club in friends garden tomorrow a/noon but one is away, another daughter visiting first time since Christmas, one on business in London... one lives in France so she usually joins us on Zoom! So it's been postponed.... instead gave host friend J... she of bike riding couple a call and they're going to come over for an a/ noon cuppa.... help eat up the cake so we don't!
Sadly downstairs is going to have to have the vacuum over it again in the morning... so many insects ....
Well that's it for today... to hot to be doing much! Doesn't look like it'll be any different tomorrow... inside house temp today was 31C so dread to think what outsides was!

Not a breath of air today - eerily still - and here in Suffolk it was cloudy all morning and then the sun came out in the afternoon. Sat outside (as no sun then) for a little while late morning then got back into family history mode for most of afternoon. Fan on in study (as now) but just blowing out warm air! Another sticky night methinks.
Went outside to sit again around 8pm just because it was a bit cooler then compared to my flat. Stayed about an hour I guess and then came in to eat - salad and quiche, dessert tiramisu.
Had a manicure after dinner but nothing on tv I wanted to watch. Washed my hair - heaven knows what it will be like tomorrow with this heat. Didn't know I could 'leak' from so many places inside my hothouse of a flat. Out at 10.15 tomorrow to have coffee with my cousin and his wife (not seen since lockdown) with my sister and b-in-l. Sister then wants to go to Woodbridge after so perhaps we'll be able to find somewhere 'safe' to have some lunch. This weather continuing for 2 more days at least before temperatures drop a little. I think I've had enough of it now - mid 20's would be lovely instead of 32C.
Sounds like we are all hot and bothered now.

Gosh, it certainly WAS HOT all day yesterday, but it doesn't seem like most of you enjoyed it at all. I didn't even bother to carry a jumper when we went for out walk around the lakes, and we had the balcony door wide open until it was fully dark. There were a couple of clots, (paddle board and kayak,) quite far out on the water until the last minute and I was expecting the helicopter to have to go out, but I didn't hear it.
I am smiling over Viktoria munching away on her cookery book.... free with 3 labels... those were the days. Toys in the cereal, picture cards in the tea, and collecting of every kind of label to exchange for gifts. I had a costume doll from collecting soap powder packets once.

Son and Grandson and dog came over in the morning. He is on holiday and it is holiday for me too. Daughter in law has to work today but then she will be on holiday too. I get in his car and we head off to the park. I used to go to this park when I was a little girl but it is unrecognizable now to what it was back then. I remember things like a bike shed there, where kids could borrow a bike for a few pennies and a high barred bridge between two grass mounds with a concrete path running through the middle. Probably quite dangerous when I think back, but I was fortunate never to have any accidents when swinging or clambering over the bridge. Today the park seems much more built with safety in mind. It is a beautiful sunny day, and son sees to it that we all get smothered in sun protection and that Grandson has his cap on before we leave the car park. It is decided that my son will walk the dog around the outside of the park as dogs aren't allowed in and I will take my Grandson in. Grandson is a whirling dervish in the park running excitedly from one thing to another sometimes with me running behind shouting "wait for me!". His favourite thing is a little wooden rocky bike on a spring which rocks back and forth. Grandson pretends that this is a motorbike and shouts to imaginary people to get out the way or they will be ran over. After the park we go back to my house for lunch. Grandson becomes a bit contrary over his lunch - he asks for one thing but then decides that he would rather have what son and I are having. After lunch I show son a brochure I have recently picked up at a hardware store and he advises me on a strimmer to get. Son and daughter in law had been over at the weekend and had helped me with my border areas. I manage to keep up with my lawns but the borders .. well the least said about this the better. Son had joked about, saying things such as he is going to send my photo to the archives and local studies saying 'please ban this woman' and also that .. "those Tyne pilots have a lot to answer for, don't they?". I know he is only joking but I still get defensive pointing out everything is still shut anyway and that I am out working and travelling 15 hours a day and often knackered on days off, etc. Daughter in law says "Take no notice, you know he is winding you up.". Yes, I know it is all just jokey banter but now I am planning to get a strimmer to make things easier for myself.
After lunch we go in the car again and head to Tynemouth. Son treats us all to an icecream and we go for a walk to the Collingwood monument near the Priory Castle. The view of the river and the sea outside the piers is so breathtakingly beautiful on this dazzling, sunny day. I tell my son the story of our Tyne Pilot ancestor who drowned in a storm just past those piers, just in case he hadn't been listening all those other times. Son later drops me back off at home and I wave goodbye to them.
Sister in law comes for tea and I give her her birthday card and gift for her upcoming birthday this week. We chat and laugh and she helps me remove some of my paper templates from my quilt. I say I will tell her sister (who is also working on a quilt) that she has been helping me. Sister in law jokes .. "don't tell her that - this is slave labour.". However, she also concedes that it is also a bit therapeutic. When sister in law leaves I decide to have an early night and read a book before bed. However, I soon find I can hardly keep my eyes open and go out like a light.

What a lot in one day -off work!
No TV signal here so only a short bit of Morse last night .
Did the hems on a couple of pairs of trousers,I must be shrinking rapidly!
I did not hear thunder last night but there were some flashes in the distance.
Staked gladioli up better this morning ,ready for whatever comes weatherwise.
Well that galabanana galnilani gabblebani cheese does not get lovely and stiringy , and not cheap so back to basic again.
I cut down my two mints as they were like trees ,so guess what is coming with the Tesco order? Yes Lamb!
What a noo nah I am!
Put the cut mint under the bushes where Henry the over the lane cat “ visits”
I can smell the mint so he will perhaps and be deterred!
Stocks out,a vibrant pink with burgundy leaves at the top.
Lavender in window boxes magnificent , and a Peony, whilst not in flower this year has come from nowhere , planted two years ago and nothing!
Gone, then a little sprig came up, now 18 inches high and healthy so hopefully next year flowers.
Someone gave me a Cerinthe ,flower a bit like a blue shrimp!
Healthy but no buds as yet but we will see, it overwintered in leaf.
So many figs on the bush, “ four big and some from Malteser size to petit pois size - really healthy thanks to feeding it with Miracle Gro!
I spoke with my friend on the phone and related to her the unpleasantness with neighbour .
She sai they had something very similar and the husband had waited until my friend was alone and then launched into a very aggressive verbal attack .
Her husband reported it to the Police , seemingly there does not need to be actual physical violence ,it can be enough to feel threatened from verbal violence and even then it is not necessary for threats to have been made either verbal or by gesture .
Just a loud nasty tirade .
She was forty ,at the time ,well a helpless little 83 year old lady ,living alone , frail and with health problems, an orphan who gets gout , little dog has died ,
needs new glasses and new electric toothbrush whizzed two fillings out, etc etc, !He should be frightened!
No I would not actually take it that far ,but at least I know I could use it as a warning to him to calm down and speak normally.
Should he come back at any time.
Oh what can I do next , too hot outside and won’t want much for tea, oooooh
I know ,tasty Red Salmon ,from a tin ,with salad and cold new potatoes .
Jelly , and creamy custard .
Or I could poach some salmon from the freezer and serve it with mayonnaise.
Hope TV is back on tonight want to see evil Geoff get his come uppance——— they are spinning this out!
Hope everyone is well ,and threatened storms don’t cause any more damage and upset.
Just phoned neighbour to remind her to drink plenty ,she soon goes “ down”
if she forgets.
The lads at work took a photograph of Flash Harry in his uniform ,put it up on the noticeboard as a new member of staff .
He ,in normal times, does like to be involved in sales.!
Had his own forms to fill in etc,using felt tips, ;D
So with him and the dog who is also on the staff and is everyone’s friend buying a motorcycle at his grandparents franchise had a whole new meaning .
He gets a pay packet ,just enough for a small bar of something and that is it for the week sweet wise.
He used to tell customers to not forget the paperwork - his- .!
But not since lockdown began of course .
School in a few weeks, two or so.
Well not going out until evening brings some coolth, so look after yourselves everyone and look forward to your posts.

RTL - loved to hear all about your little grandson and the games he likes and expects you to participate in too.... they are a joy! Good to be able to meet up with your family and have some special time.
Viktoria - your garden sounds delightful and full of flowers, our stocks are out too we've got pink and purple. The cardoon too is looking like a giant triffid and the weight of the heads are making the stems bend but the look pretty with their purple hazy tops and the bees love them. Can't believe that the cyclamen are flowering... should be autum time but they look so pretty under the ornamental pear along with a creeping geranium giving good ground cover to a space area.
Interesting information regarding reporting your neighbour should he get vocal again!
Mowsehowse - don't think you'd have needed a cardi today when out for a walk either.... I remember all the freebies too... coop stamps... found a book of those quite recently at the bottom of a kitchen draw... how about green shield stamps too... oh my those were the days!
Annette - well done for your perseverance with FH in all this heat... true dedication!
