Title: Holidays situation Wales
Post by: alderjones on Sunday 16 August 20 13:10 BST (UK)
Went to Wales on holiday last week so thought would tell you what it was like.
Renting a house - had to arrive after 4 on Saturday as per property owner, though company website said after 6. (We got there 5.15 and got in ok). House had hand sanitiser inside entrance and had had cushions, books, cds, etc etc removed. Also had to take own towels (normally take them anyway) and bed linen(but that's normal for that house).
Natives not generally wearing masks, only the English. Queueing, entry number restrictions in shops as per England.
Beaches pretty busy, some groups of several families together but plenty of room if you made the effort to find somewhere a bit away from groups. Lifeboat station not open to visitors.
Had takeaway food a couple of nights, went in, ordered , then queued outside to wait for it.
Had coffee at Costa but the only contact tracing wanted you to scan QR code on phone, no handwritten details taken - but then our local M&S cafe does not take your details - yet garden centres do!
On departure had to open windows.
Fortunately weather was generally very good so none of the 30 degree plus the South sweltered in  so all in all a very good week and just glad to be away for first time this year - only downside was we normally have 6 or 8 of us with family, grandchildren etc but they thought it too much of a risk so the 2 of us had a much quieter time than usually. Hopefully they will be back with us there next year!
