I'm seeking help to locate WW1 service records for Albert Graham b. 9 Dec 1893, d. 19 June 1936 at Douglas IOM. Parents Thomas Graham and Susannah (Susan). Albert enlisted Onchan Douglas Isle of Man 10 Mar 1911. His address was 40 Senna Road and his occupation was confectioner.
From imuseum.im.......Regimental No.: 1192. Age: 17. Transferred to 16th Battalion King's Liverpool Regiment. Struck off 6 March 1915. (MS 00789 Muster roll of the Isle of Man Volunteer Corps)
His brother Albert b 8 Aug 1891, also served - with the Cheshire Regiment and died of wounds 18 Jan 1818.
Thank you,
Margaret

Please remember that some two-thirds of all WW1 Service Records were destroyed in a WW2 Bombing Raid.
And, a minor point ;D
Onchan is (and was) a separate parish to Douglas.
Indeed, before there was a parish of Douglas, the town of Douglas was split between Braddan and Onchan parishes!

Surely they weren't both called Albert?

I think the brother was Edmond?

Thank you KGarrad for your helpful information - IOM is a new research place for me as you can tell. It should read:
Parish: Onchan
Town / Village residence: Douglas
Abode: 40 Senna Road

I would like to try to see if Albert's service records have survived or not. - would anyone have any ideas about where these records might be found and/or how to search for them using the limited information that I have gleaned please. Would his Regiment Number 1192 be enough? Also can I search somewhere for the Muster Roll perhaps using MS 00789? etc.,

If his WW1 British Army records had survived they would be in the National Archives and viewable on FindMyPast and Ancestry, unless he continued to serve after 1920, in which case they would still be with the MoD.
I wasn't able to find anything definite for him at first pass but I will take another look.
The muster roll information you have and the service number 1192 refer to his time in the Isle of Man Volunteer Corps. If those records survive they will still be in the Isle of Man.
Do you have access to his WW1 medals? If so there will be useful information engraved on the edge.

There's a possibility in the medal rolls: Albert Graham 26881 served with 13th Kings Liverpool Regiment, and then the 2nd. Embarked for France 6/12/1915. He's also on the India Medal roll, with a clasp for the Afghanistan campaign in 1919. Curiously Ancestry has transcribed that one as "Battle of Waterloo" 1815 !

Thank you so much, sounds like this could be our man, we don't have any medals unfortunately. I'll see what else I can find and post any results.
"The Battle of Waterloo" - ho ho!

I was able to download a digital copy of Albert's Medal card from the National Archives for free. Yay!

In case you're not aware (apologies if you are) he first went overseas with the 13/KLR
where he received his wounds.
They were already in France when he was posted to them as his 14/15 Star roll has
an entry date of Dec. 1915. 13/KLR went in Sept. 1915.
He probably transferred to the 2nd. Btn. after recovering from his wounds.
This is what the LLT says:
13th (Service) Battalion
Formed at Seaforth in September 1914 as part of K3 and attached as Army Troops to 25th Division.
February 1915 : transferred to 76th Brigade in same Division.
27 September 1915 : landed at Le Havre.
15 October 1915 : transferred with Brigade to 3rd Division.
23 October 1915 : transferred to 8th Brigade in same Division.
4 April 1916 : transferred to 9th Brigade in same Division.
2nd Battalion
August 1914 : in Peshawar in India. Part of 1st (Peshawar) Brigade, 1st (Peshawar) Division of Indian Army. Remained in India throughout the war. Moved to 10th Brigade in 4th (Quetta) Division December 1917.

Thank you jim1 I'm really impressed with your depth of knowledge about WW1 and your ability to easily read the records - it's been a big help.

As rodgepodge has obviously found out, access to IOM Newspapers is now free at iMuseum.im. ;D
Before lockdown, it was a subscription service.

.......and I've been making good use of it!
In appreciation,
