Title: Bwllfa Colliery Cwmdare Glamorgan
Post by: Newbabe on Tuesday 25 August 20 11:18 BST (UK)
Can anyone tell me if there is any buildings remaining for the Bwllfa Colliery.
As a child in the early 1950s I can remember walking from my grandparents house in Bwllfa
Road (where my father was born) to the 'pit head' and going into a building with very clean sparkling machinery almost like museum pieces.  I know my grandfather worked there and I also believe my great grandfather (my grandmothers father) worked there.
Any info would be much appreciated.

Looks like it was all removed and landscaped (apart from a couple of monuments), to make Dare Valley Country Park.

I think they've erected a small pit wheel and a stone monument. I  read that landscaping took plaCe in the 1970's. The Cynon Valley Museum may have some ino. I know they are closed to the public, but there may be staff around. http://cynonvalleymuseum.wales/   They also have a Facebook and twitter page that might get you more immediate contact
