Title: Date of Birth?
Post by: Braindead on Friday 28 August 20 16:22 BST (UK)
It would be great if someone could help me with the date of birth in this baptismal record. I am wondering what the date is. Is it the 9th, assuming that the figure preceeding it has been crossed out, or is it the 29th, assuming the figure has a smudge?
Any help is appreciated!

Looks like 29 March to me. I think the 2 was originally a 1.

Agree. In trying to amend the writer has put a blot on by accident.

I agree, a 1 changed to a 2 smudged in the process.

Thanks for the replies and consensus. I'll go with the 29th although it would be nice to get some sort of confirmation.

The only way to confirm it would be to get a copy of the birth record from GRO.

Now why didn't I think of that? Seriously, it had completely slipped my mind!
