Title: What is this street in Nottingham please
Post by: Stanwix England on Saturday 29 August 20 13:18 BST (UK)
Hi,

I am trying to work out the name of this street in Nottingham. It's in the parish of St Mary, Ecclesiastical district of The Holy Trinity in Nottingham.

It's the census record for William Hawtin born 1818 in Morton, Nottingham.

I've tried to make out the other streets on pages close to this entry without success. I can't tell if it's a C or an L at the start of the word.

Thank you

You can see Cross Court on the 1882 1/500 Town Plan at https://www.old-maps.co.uk/#/Map/457406/340247/13/101264

You do not have to subscribe, just change the zoom level with the - in the top left corner.

Or see it on the map at https://maps.nls.uk/view/115392374#zoom=6&lat=4888&lon=7581&layers=BT between Newcastle Street and Mount East Street, to the north of Newton Street.
