Many thanks to you all.  This has helped me a great deal.

1. I wonder how Henry got included on the War Graves memorial and what he was doing in Bournemouth.  In 1939 he is listed as a Special Constable now serving with........

2. These probable siblings are interesting.  The sister Henrietta W. HAMILTON was born about 1873 in New Zealand.  If the 1916 will [below] is correct, the beneficiary is  a Richard A.
HAMILTON.

Henrietta Wilhelmina Hamilton
Death Date:   11 Mar 1916
Death Place:   Donegal
Primary Beneficiary:   Richard A Hamilton

3. I had previously picked up a married couple Richard A HAMILTON and Henrietta R WYBRANTS but had discounted her as she seemed too old to be the mother of the siblings.
Henrietta R Wybrants [TOO OLD]

I am unable to view the records on this website as each record that I attempt to download sets off a flashing convulsion in my laptop, that is very difficult to reverse or stop!
So I have not seen the parent's record but Rockfield rings a bell.

Many thanks for that excellent Donegal Newspaper report

"Possible connection - John Hamilton of Inishmacsaint married Mary Anne Fawsett of the Parish of Kilbaron on 7 February 1837 in Inishmacsaint Church of Ireland parish, witnessed by William Fawsett and James Hamilton."

I will follow the FAUSETT name that appears later with, Mary Anne Elizabeth Fausett Hamilton who died young.

BIRTH 7 JUN 1870 • Kinlough, Leitrim, Ireland
DEATH 1874 • Ballyshannon, Ireland

... Possible connection - John Hamilton of Inishmacsaint married Mary Anne Fawsett of the Parish of Kilbaron on 7 February 1837 in Inishmacsaint Church of Ireland parish, witnessed by William Fawsett and James Hamilton.

September 15 1854
At her residence, on the Mall, Ballyshannon, on Monday, the 4th inst., in the 39th year of her age, MARY ANNE, relict of JOHN HAMILTON, ESQ., of Mill View

http://donegalgenealogy.com/kilbarronbmdnotices.htm

So it looks like Mary Anne Fawsett was born c. 1815, married in 1837 and died in 1854.  According to the relevant 1901/11 census returns and death registration, Richard Alfred Hamilton was born c. 1844/45.

Dublin and Derry newspapers in late October / early November 1839 carried the following birth notice, possibly an older brother to Richard Alfred:
At Millview Lodge, county Donegal, the lady of John Hamilton, Esq, of a son.

Further to the above notice, I can see Church of Ireland baptisms for:
- Emma Hamilton in 1838 (Inishmacsaint parish), parents John and Mary Anne Hamilton;
- Frances Hamilton in 1841 (Drumhome parish), parents John Hamilton, gentleman, and Mary.

Then this from the Dublin Daily Express of 28 September 1861:
Lipsett and Hamilton - September 25, at the Chapel of Ease, Londonderry, by the Rev. William Craig, Caldwell H. Lipsett, Esq., of Dominica, to Emma, daughter of the late John Hamilton, Esq., of Millview, county Donegall.

Maybe a son.  The 1900 marriage records shows an Emma Lipsett as one of the witnesses.

Grave record for the father?

Lots of potential leads and information on the 'Ancestry' website (eg. died in 1913).
