Starting early again.....
Another day when I started off feeling agitated without any particular reason. Sunny and warm today but very windy. Went for a walk, really windy on the field and in the woods, was hoping the trees didn't come crashing down around me!
Home for lunch, couldn't settle. Went out to do some gardening but it was too windy so only managed to do a bit of deadheading. My friend came round to do the small repairs on my car that are required for the MOT, hopefully he will be able to do the bigger ones next week.
Felt more settled later, a bit of company always helps to quell the agitated state. Did a bit of housework then roasted some of the peppers that I'd mistakenly over-ordered. Had some for tea with haddock, jacket potato, avocado and roasted tomatoes. Will freeze the rest. Blueberries and yogurt for dessert.
That's it, hope others have had a more interesting day.

Don't think mine was any more interesting! Good to hear you got some of the work done on your car and that the company made you feel a bit more settled.
Annoyingly woke up earlier than I'd wanted to really so read for a while..
Its our Sons birthday today.... although as he lives in Oz the days almost over! But I did message him before I turned my light out last night to wish him a Happy one... miss him lots and this time last year they were back in the UK so we celebrated all together... 😢....
Once up and organised I messaged him and we FaceTimed, had a long chat, he'd had a good day they'd been out for dinner with friends to a wonderful sea food place he took us too when we were visiting in spring of last year...
I wonder if and when that's going to happen again it seems like almost a pipe dream... flying anywhere is a challenge let alone that far!..... he said things in Qld were going along as normal pretty much...he's got lots of work which is great but has a long wait for the legs for the tables as he has them made in Melbourne and having waited the usual 4 weeks he contacted to find out delivery update for them to say they were in lockdown and not back at work until late September... so he wasn't too happy they'd not told him! Now sourcing from elsewear!
Just in time to add a couple of bottles of Cava to my shopping order before the deadline....
The weather was sunny, hot and blue skies, gentle breeze sat outside reading the Sunday papers...
Thought I ought to do some sewing but... it was too nice outside ... it'll have to wait until tomorrow...
After lunch I wrote up the minutes for our Investment Club meeting as I was acting Secretary... took me back to when I was Sec for the WI for about 10 years...
OH was reading the village plan and filling in questionnaire we've been sent... I've still got that to do.. manyana as it's 35 pages long....
Had a game of scrabble and I beat him by nearly 100 points... I was lucky got all but one of high scorers and able to get good points... he got poor letters.... ah welll back to even now!
Went outside with my book to enjoy the rest of the day...
Shower and washed my hair..
Messaged daughter to wish youngest grandson good luck as he starts in Reception tomorrow
OH cooked steaks on the BBQ which we had with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes ( as I said before tomatoes for every meal...) peas and chips! A couple of glasses of wine finished off with some chocolate! Still warm enough to sit outside...
Message back from daughter to say he was still awake as excited about going to school... he'll be hell to get up in the morning as he's definitely not an am sort of person... rather her than me...
Watched Gardners World and new drama series set in Singapore... not very inspiring!
That's it for my day, relaxing if a little dull!

Looks like you both had positives in your day, and company..... though I have to admit I was really fed up most of it too.
Very sunny and a strong but warmish breeze. After lunch walked along to the end of Preston beach, no, not Lancs Roobarb!! ;D ;D Still far too many people around taking up so much space. 6 in a row right across the prom and absolutely no moving out of the way for anyone else! Mostly we walked along the greens, and we saw a clouded yellow butterfly, which was MOST unusual!
Sat out on the balcony for a while, but rather windy. Another walk after tea, not so many people around, but those were clearly holiday makers and no consideration from any of them!! I rather hate people.
Some debate over how we are ever going to get back to Morris dancing. A max of 4 dancers and 2 musicians is really not going to work, and I feel we might as well disband and give up. We could sit in a school, or pub or restaurant among more than 100 other people, but we are not allowed to dance in a group of more than 6 in someone's garden. Where is the logic in that??

Mowsehowse - not like you to sound down in the mouth but I know what you mean about the logic of these new rules .... they just don't make any sense do they.... im sure you'd be much safer outside with more people spread out than stuck in doors with a hoard.... personally we're just sticking to what we've been doing all along!
Hope you feel in better spirits today... have more peaceful walks as weekend trippers will have returned home now and you'll have the beach and prom more to yourselves.... I'm sure local people are better at distancing than others!

The problem with Morris dancing is that we make a noise, so probably people will peer through curtains to see what's happening, and to break the rules a bit the first time might be acceptable, but to do it regularly would be taking the risk of NNN's surfacing, particularly if they don't like the noise. :-X

Which is as well as I can’t stand much excitement these days.!

Part of my order from Wilko’s has arrived ,the rest tomorrow.
Mixed Narcissi and Daffodils, smallAliums and mixed bedding hyacinths .
A disinfectant and small non stick pan.
My other has a soft grip handle and if it gets really wet has an unpleasant odour ,so it can go in the bin.
Also some bathroom paint ,I know it is passe’ but lots of tester pots show it matches the tiles ,which are like a streaky marble,beiges etc.
Magnolia matches the palest streaks.
Or it could be Mongolia!
Big garden storage trunk coming tomorrow.
So all set to go now with rollers ,long handled ones as the step ladders will not open fully one way ,so not safe .
Well Bolton has the highest figure per 100,000, so my son may not be able to come as usual for his five minute delivery slot!

Well I have been invited to Suffolk for Christmas ,son in law will come up for me and drive me down.
But we will not be the deciders will we!

Daughter phones every Monday evening for a couple of hours ,so will hear all about him.
Cheerio folk ,one day at a time , count our blessings and carry on.

Post, have you noticed how much post is coming from charities, have been away for a few days and came back to quite a lot
Masks, we were in Christchurch for a couple of days last week, most people were wearing masks as we were, Devon, not so many but we kept out distance
Journey back from Teignmouth, a nightmare, 30 miles before Stonehenge we were creeping along for about an hour, we finally saw a policeman who was waving us on saying "thank you" that was nice of him but we had no idea what had happened, M3, down from 4 lanes to 2, cones put out but no sign of work being done, another almost hour wasted, amazingly the M25 was really smooth, finally got home after a 7.5 hour journey
So now we are in again, whatever will be will be

Caroline, well done with beating OH at Scrabble! Tomatoes with every meal sounds great to me, I love tomatoes. Hope things have gone well for the little one at school.
Mowsehowse, sorry to hear you were on a downer. I think we all have the feeling that this has gone on longer than we originally expected, back in March it seemed likely that we'd be pretty much back to normal (not 'new normal'). People who don't social distance just make things worse. There doesn't seem t be any logic in the current regulations although someone has said in another thread that people in bars and restaurants can be policed but people in gardens can't. I suppose there's some sense in that but it is leaving it to trust with personal get togethers. If all those idiots hadn't congregated in throngs we wouldn't be in this position. >:(

Viktoria, you're certainly going to be busy with all the bulb planting and painting. Good to hear that your son in law will pick you up at Christmas, hope things are calmer all round by then.

Yes thank you I did enjoy my break, was a quick break away to see my twin brother, hadn't seen him for , I thought 3 years, he said 2 and time passes by and I didn't want if to be to late if you see what I mean ,
I think we are all getting down times, it isn't easy, I feel for people,totally on their own who can't get out, so I count my blessings as it were

I am the oldest by 2 hours spanning midnight, don't need to remind him I am the oldest but he addresses me by B1 and I call him B2 when we write or text, B being the first letter of our Christian names, all good fun, we got on very well as children.

Late again!
Went over to my sisters late afternoon for a Sunday Roast - friend J also invited. Had a lovely get together and the roast was beautiful followed by apple and blackberry crumble and custard.
With the nights pulling in now it was pitch black when I got home around 9pm. I'd taken my knitting with me only to discover when I got home that I'd made a mistake so ended up undoing about 8 rows which I wasn't best pleased about. Sorted it out and now back on course.
After sorting the knitting just watched some tv (can't remember what though) and checked Facebook and Rootschat and then to bed.
Visit to recycling centre on Monday - wonder how that will pan out.

After a week every day Flash Harry was a bit tired and somewhat “ fragile “
but the teacher said they mostly were ,being at home so much ,no playgroups etc.
Let us know how your little one went on.
I always thought I was a twin, you know when Mum was cross ,someone who reeeeeeely understood me!
I too love tomatoes ,but, then the gout starts!
So ration myself and tomato dishes like spag Bol and chilli ,butter bean casserole etc have to be far apart.

Yes, Charities on TV ,in the post etc, I have a standing orders for MacMillan
and Alzheimer’s, Bury Hospice , RNIB’ Red Cross and Dogs’Trust.
Thinking I would not feel so guilty ,but they keep sending raffle tickets etc .
Some of the charities on TV are new to me.
Well Kier Starmer has to self isolate ,family member positive.
The guidelines/rules are so mixed ,no wonder people are giving up.
Perhaps if we were warned Christmas will be cancelled unless everybody sticks to rules and guidelines ,the idiots might pay heed!
Well, just off to make a cup of tea,have got Lady Grey ,like the orange zest in it.Earl Grey has no flavour nowadays .

I've not heard how my youngest got on today but will be speaking to daughter tomorrow so will let you know.... assuming she managed to get him up! Apparently he runs all the way, been going daily as his brother in yr 3 now so at least used to the school and its lay out etc... been thinking about him today bless him!
Louisa M glad to hear you managed too get to see your twin brother... my what a tortuous journey though... it's often a bottle neck on that A303 even though they've re routed to Stonehenge! We travel that way to visit friends... well in the days we could... and I always hate it.... I remember when you could just park near the stones and walk amongst them not like today where you're miles away from them!...
Good to hear you had a good time Annette... it's a pain having to undo knitting... I'm always doing it especially while watching tv and not putting light on that's above my head!

Stonehenge was no bother at all which is unusual, my daughter and son in law, mad things, regularly go to Cornwall to surf and she always by passes S H, we didn't but might try it if we go that way next time
Our granddaughter is coming for brunch before she drives herself to Sheffield University, something else for me to worry about with the roads and drivers as they sometimes are, we saw a few idiots last weekend
Looks to be another nice day so we have to make the most of what summer time is left, mornings and evenings drawing in now.
