Hi Can you tell me where I can find Indian Army records for my Uncle.
His name was George Lawton. I’ve no idea of his number etc

Do you have any clues at all (uniform, medals, photos, documents)? The initial difficulty is knowing whether he served in the British Army in India or whether he was in the Indian Army, they were different things. Records for the former are held by the Ministry of Defence and for the latter by the British Library. Here is a guide to the latter also:

Firstly, someone must have told you he was in the Indian army - do you know where they got that information from? Family story? Is there an elderly family member you could ask for more information?
Further to Max's suggestion, perhaps try a process of elimination? You could apply for his service record here:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/request-records-of-deceased-service-personnel
and pay the £30. If they cannot locate his service record your money will be refunded.
