Title: John William Mason 1908
Post by: RodEast on Saturday 03 October 20 17:28 BST (UK): I have the following information:John William Mason Gunner RA enlisted 1928 for 6 years -1929 F Subsection - 60th Field Battery - 23 Field Brigade - Roberts Barracks - Jubbulpore - India. Can anyone tell me where I can find any information relating to this entry.

Post by: ShaunJ on Saturday 03 October 20 20:04 BST (UK): John William Mason 781417 born 19/6/08 attested for the Royal Artillery in Macclesfield 30 April 1928. Transferred to Army Reserve in 1935. Discharged in 1946. (per Royal Artillery Attestations)

Further down there is X list (IV) India

Post by: MaxD on Monday 05 October 20 17:04 BST (UK): X list entries record when a man is away from his unit for a period. X ii is when a man is sick usually in hospital (in his case for four days). X iv is when he is awaiting posting (in his case movement back to UK in Apr 45).

Apart from getting his records which may include his earlier service , you could try the RA Museum at Larkhill which in more normal times would look up what they have on 23 Field Brigade in India but Covid isn't helping:
