I'm trying to find out info on Robert Hacker, of East Bridgeford, a son of Rev Charles Hacker and his wife Anne Hartopp. I've been able to get some sketchy info from the internet and IGI but unable to access Ancestry or Notts. records at present.
What I have is.....
Robert Hacker, esq., “of East Bridgeford, co. Notts.”,
bap. Widmerpool, Nottingham 8 October 1713, bur. All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 17 February 1738-39
marr. I think but not sure of his wife's name at all, Mary, bur. All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 21 January 1737, They had issue (again I think?) 1 son and 4 daughters:
1. Robert Hacker,
bap. All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 9 January 1731-32, bur. All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 9 January 1735-36
2. Anne Hacker,
bap. All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 9 October 1734
marr. at All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 15 June 1756, Rev. Thomas Parkinson
3. Catherine Hacker,
bap. All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 15 June 1735, died East Bridgeford, co. Notts. 3 December 1818
marr. Loughborough, co. Leics. 7 December 1752, Rev. Edward Heathcote, born 1733, died 1803,
4. I know there was another daughter called Mary, but I can't unearth any details of her.
There is a Mary Hacker, bap. All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 17 April 1740, but she is born well after Robert's death. So I don't know where she fits in.
Any details or other info would be gratefully received.
Many thanks.
Craig

Is there any info in particular that you want?
On the Notts FHS discs, there are 3 Hacker baptisms at Widmerpool St Peter, father Charles (rector) and mother Anne:
1713 10 08 Son Robert
1717 11 25 Dau Arabella
1721 11 05 Son Rowland
Charles and Ann (without the -e) died in the early 1730s and were buriedat Widmerpool:
1731 02 03 Charles HACKER abode Widmerpool The Reverend Mr. - Recte.of Widmerpool
1732 04 21 Ann HACKER abode Loughborough Relict of Revd.Charles - late Rector.
Maybe Ann went to stay with her son in Loughborough after she was widowed.
I can't see any marriages for these people listed anywhere in the county (although my disc doesn't cover every single parish).
Since you mention an East Bridgford connection, I'll mention that there were a couple of earlier Hacker events at St Peter's in East B
Baptisms; father Charles, mother Jane, no occupation given
1679 09 02 Son Orlando
1682 08 18 Dau Elizabeth
Burials: (no ages given for any of these)
1674 10 07 Rowland HACKER "Collonel Rowland"
1679 12 29 Orlando HACKER East Bridgford Son of Charles
1719 04 28 Charles HACKER East Bridgford Mr.
1721 02 14 Jane HACKER East Bridgford Mrs.
and a couple of much earlier marriages, plus a later one:
1615 01 09 Thomas WIGHTMAN and Elizabeth HACKER
1617 12 23 Francis HACKER and Margaret ROSSELL (NA has a will of Francis Hacker of Colston Bassett dated 1647, possibly the same man?)
1708 07 24 Christopher SWIFT and Elizabeth HACKER
(there are other Hacker events at East Birdgford going well into the 1800s as well)

FindMyPast has a record transcription of a marriage licence for Robert Hacker of Widmerpool; bond date 22 Feb 1731, place of marriage St Helen Abingdon, bride-to-be Mary Pritchard of South Hinxey, Berkshire.

I'd be tempted to expand the searches to Flintham as well as clearly there was a Hacker family there during the same era, and Flintham is only 5-6- miles from East Bridgford.

Hi Annie65115.
Sorry to be late in replying. Just back from a longish work stint!
Many thanks for great information you've sent.
That sounds like the correct marriage bond for Robert. I have the 3 children of Charles and Anne from the IGI.
If you unearth anything further of the children of Robert Hacker and Mary Pritchard I'd be grateful. Especially any details of a daughter Mary who must have been born in the few years between the marriage in 1731 and Robert seniors death 1738-39.
Would you be able to send me details of the Mary Hacker bap. at All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 17 April 1740 to see who she might be.
Also could you send me details of the marriage at All Saints, Loughborough, co. Leics. 15 June 1756 between Anne Hacker and Thomas Parkinson.
Many thanks,
Craig

The Loughborough registers are available to view on FindMyPast.
The baptism is registered thus:
April 17 1740 Mary Daughter of Robt Hacker Gent - bap
(maybe for some reason -- perhaps maternal death -she didn't get baptised at birth? Or maybe she'd had a private baptism and this was her being "received into the church" (although it doesn't say that). But then who organised this? Was there other family in Loughborough?)
Ann and Thomas Parkinson were married by licence. Thomas was a batchelor and a clerk, he and Ann both aged 21. His bondsman was John Berrington of Leicester, yeoman. Marriage witnesses were Anne Avery and Nich. Webster. Ann rather sweetly signed the register as Ann Parkinson and someone has added (late Hacker). Nich. Webster witnessed a lot of the marriages so he may have been the church warden, or similar.

Many thanks again for the details below Annie. Much appreciated. I love the little 'human'comments and details attached to records like that. They cease to be just names but real people.
Presuming again on your good nature!... I know that Arabella Hacker bap. 1717 married Rev. Edward Heathcote and had numerous family which is quite well documented. However I have no details of the whereabouts of the younger son 1721 11 05 Son Rowland Hacker bap. Widmerpool St Peter 5/11/1721. There is only one comment that he married and had daughters. If you come across any references to Rowland and any family please let me know.
Thanks, Craig

He's not on the Notts disc after his baptism. It would be better to look in Leicestershire, I suspect, given the family went to Loughborough. (And who did the children stay with there after their parents died?)

I presume you know about Francis Hacker?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Hacker
At the bottom of the page it mentions that his estate wasbought back by Rowland Hacker and stayed in the family until the late 1800s. This may not be your Rowland (it doesn't give the date and Francis had a son called Rowland) but it must surely be the same family.
There is a will online (FindMyPast) of Lt Col Rowland Heathcote Hacker of Chesterfield dated 1831. This won't be the Rowland bapt >100 years earlier but may be of relevance. It mentions property at East Bridgford. It also mentions at least 2 brothers who were clergy ( I haven't read the whole thing). Clearly the family had close links both with the church and with the army; I wonder if the 1721 Rowland went into the army? He could have left the country if so.
