Title: Where is Curroe?
Post by: Lisajb on Friday 09 October 20 18:25 BST (UK)
I have found a record on Ancestry which is of interest to me, but I cannot find the place

Its a burial for a Margarita Maher, in 1873, residence is given as Curroe, and burial place Ballinahown, Westmeath and Offaly, Ireland.

Could someone suggest where/what Curroe might be?  I was hoping to find a matching death registration, but have had no luck so far.

thanks
Lisa

Looks more like Corroe (#473).

There's a townland called Grogan and Corroe NE of Ferbane (the registration district).

Ballinahown village is situated on the western edge of Lemanaghan civil parish which includes the townland of Grogan and Corroe.
