Well not sure if there is a previous post for Tuesday as all previous postings on this board don’t go any later than early evening which is unusual...
Here goes anyway...
It was a sunny start to the day which given all current uncertainties was a joy to see...
After breakfast I did some general tidying up and then got ready to go for usual Tuesday coffee with friends/ neighbours... just as I was about to step outside the heavens opened... the sky was still blue... there must be a rain cloud somewhere...I retrieved my umbrella from my car... dashed out to put the empty bins away and walked up the lane... just two of us this morning.. we sat in her well ventilated pool room and enjoyed a chat, coffee and cake...had a conversation with her Hubble who has replaced the battery on OH’s phone ( daughters hand me down) as old one completely useless.... new one still fully charged after nearly two days... Well worth replacing...
We talked about new measures and so far so good for our area... if we’re not safe in our village in the middle of-the countryside then we’re in trouble! Sadly our post code is linked to a town that’s 10 miles away which is ludicrous...
Returned home in time for lunch... OH busy with his jigsaw...
We had a game of scrabble... which I won so now two up... OH very grumpy not because I’d won but because he was fed up with getting firstly lots of vowels and then none... well he’ll just have to pick better ones next time I told him 😂😂...
Thought I’d go and finish the 🌈 tops, which I did and all 11 now pressed and ready to go once I receive labels... I like to listen to radio 4 and the programme on at 5pm were talking about the situation in other countries in Europe who are also struggling with increased numbers, government decisions not being popular etc.... The Netherlands were thinking of having a ban on alcohol sales after 8pm... Macron was going on tv they thought to say no one out after 10pm... not sure if that’s just certain cities or nationwide... all very worrying but at the same time knowing it's not just UK that are finding new rules difficult to swallow is reassuring that it’s not just our journalists inciting fear....
Dinner was spaghetti from the freezer...
We had our monthly zoom investment club meeting.... bit of a joke at the moment investing! Sadly several members have decided to leave... couple for health reasons and one... fairly new chap because he took umbrage that none of us took up one of his suggestions .... bit petty but all I can say is he won’t be missed...
Sadly we won’t be able to have our annual Christmas Dinner, a great pity as we go to a wonderful place with excellent food.. we decided not to make any investments this month so a short meeting then a chat... nice to catch up with some we don’t see often..
Watched some tv and I did some more knitting,,,
Daughter sent me a message... she’s putting together a video for OH’s birthday on Monday asking all family and friends if they’d contribute a message, video etc... nice idea and he’ll like that.
Still keeping fingers crossed they’ll be able to get up here and London doesn’t get further restrictions...
It’s early Wednesday morning as I write this as awake.... last few nights not had brilliant sleep... who knows why it happens but wide awake...
Hope others days haven’t been bad as with no one posting it’s worrying...

Hello All
Bad back (not as bad as previous bad back episodes) so was in the 'Sick Bay' after breakfast. One thing I do have, is a lovely comfy and supportive bed (I went round lying down on every double bed in about 3 shops to get the best that suited my needs). I find laying down and getting up every hour helps my back when it plays up.
Went out for dinner and just managed to sit long enough to eat.
Then returned home had difficulty getting in and laying down, oh the joys of garden tidying.
Got some tea (Blackcurrant Jam and sliced banana on bread with cups of tea), watched the bad news, then Bishop on the moving of two Whales and fell asleep on settee.
Woke up to find I was watching something about scantily clad asian girls in clubs, but so tired I couldn't really open my eyes to watch (honest), so climbed the stairs, brushed my teeth, applied my Swedish ointment (rather than the NHS Steroid cream) on my itching, mainly on my leg calf, upper back and was quickly asleep ;)

Bad backs are terrible so I sympathise with you.
Interesting diary entry again Caroline. Sounded a peaceful day.
Awoke refreshed so made early morning tea which is unusual for me. No nightmares and disturbed sleep. OH repaired under-sink waste bin so it now works properly. I vacuumed bathroom, toilet, bedroom and hall and inside wardrobes! Never done that before. Enjoyed 30 mins phone call with sister-in-law ended up laughing which felt good. Prepared lunch of pizza from Tesco's which was delicious not at all junk food.
Afternoon was lazy I admit. I didn't walk which I felt bad about but tried to do Sudoku from weekend paper. Failed!
Chicken casserole with cauliflower and broccoli and Tuscan potatoes for tea.
Must strive to do better tomorrow.

I'm usually way too late to post to the diary thread but I do enjoy reading it so thanks all. We are still looking after the grandsons as mum is a teacher so that keeps us out of mischief and makes us quite tired ( age nearly 4 and 2 with another due December). So we are in a childcare support bubble.
As we're in the North east we are tier 2 and according to arcgis, we only have 6 cases , but like others we are lumped in with other towns and areas.
Had an unexpected FaceTime from a friend yesterday as in Tuesday afternoon saying that he has a subscriotion to a well known delivery/ film/ music app and he's allowed to have 6 profiles on his account so he was going to put me as a profile too. The email and password were fine as was the two layer phone authentication code, but has anyone else had bother with those blurry security things wher they distort letters or numbers and you have to type them in the box! Well what a palaver. I tried with spaces, without spaces, I asked for a different image, I even took a photo of one code and sent it to my friend for him to read and he agreed with my interpretation but no we were both wrong.
So I thought right I'll do the 'hear the codes' . You get a series of numbers to hear , however what they do is put a background noise underneath like water running loudly or other music. Well I managed it in the end, but anyone with worse eyes and ears like me wouldn't have been able to do it at all!
It took far longer than either of us thought it would. Youngest grandson thought it was great when I put baby shark on so my friend saw him dancing over FaceTime, then the older one asked for let it go and sang along !
There's so many normal things we can't do at the moment but little glimpses of a child being happy do help.
Mum had an unexpected meeting so was late back and she wanted to give the boys tea at home today, so we just had a tin of soup to eat after they'd gone for tea- all the rain made it a soup type day!

Caroline, it is interesting to see what restrictions are being placed in other countries, whatever any government does will inevitably be subject to criticism, I really don't envy them their job in these strange times. It always seems to be a case of damned if they do and damned if they don't. Like you, we're affected by the situation in the nearest large town and unfortunately from today we're in Tier 2 restrictions.
Mark, I hope your aches and pains improve today, having a bad back is miserable. Maybe you'll be able to watch the scantily clad Asian girls on catchup. :)
Ankerdine, don't be so harsh on yourself, having hoovered out the wardrobes earns you a rest! (Not something I've thought about doing, mine's full of shoes)
Candleflame, I know what you mean about those authentication codes, they're enough to drive you mad. Well done on getting there in the end.

My belated diary (such as it is):
Slept really badly, kept waking up, having strange dreams, I think I was coughing quite a lot. Woke to another soggy day. Was hoping it would clear out so I could go for a walk before lunch but true to the forecast it was nothing but heavy rain. Put ingredients for chilli in the slow cooker and did some cleaning.
Spent most of the rest of the afternoon doing domestic things and looking at Rootschat. It stopped raining at about 4.30, put my jacket on and went out. I had something to post so I walked along the edge of the field onto the walkway that would eventually take me round to the postbox. The field was quite muddy so I stayed mostly on the walkways, plenty of grass and trees around but not muddy underfoot. Looped round and came back by the field, it was starting to rain lightly again. Realised while I was out that I was wearing a scruffy old pair of jeans that I'd been doing the cleaning in, very few people out so no-one to see anyway. Spend my life in jeans these days, where did the glamour go?
Nothing else of note, days like this make me feel despondent. At least the weather forecast is better for Wednesday,

My Tuesday was very quiet. I spent most of the day dog sitting my daughter’s very naughty dog, did a bit of tidying and some washing (to pass the time).
In the afternnoon brought her dog back to my house so we could take both dogs for a walk together. They got a bit of a biff on a couple of times - lots of jumping at each other, friendly growls, awkward on-lead play, tangling of leads.
For the first time met cute groodle dog which I was so worried about having solo footpath adventures a few weeks ago. A very cute pup - still a youngster I think, very friendly and very interested in my and my daughter’s dog. Of course my dog disgraced herself by barking - friendly barks, but annoying nevertheless.
I went alone to meet the groodle, interested to know if it was male or female and what it’s name was. Oddly, it seemed to be wearing a collar suited to a tiny dog (it was very thin and flimsy) - it had no name tag and no council registration tag. Initially I thought it was a female, but no, I am fairly confident it is a not very well endowed male. Having an idea how much they cost I would imagine any breeder micro chipping a dog like that before selling it. ;D Lovely dog. I think it needs human company.

It's a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle. They do seem to breed a lot of dogs with poodles these days, I believe it's because they don't shed hair like other dogs.
Sounds a lovely dog, I think it must be looking for a Ruskie mummy. :)

What nice walks you all take , it has been so rainy here and cold.
Did a batch of cooking for the feeezer,Hot Pots .
Gave bathroom a really good clean ,I will have to wait for my new bath and floor covering.
I can manage .
Will do a batch of PiriPiri chicken tomorrow.
Had to leave a note with the milk bottle today .
I emptied all the milk out as otherwise the cream at the top is all round the neck and smells a bit off to me.I put it in a jug and rinse the bottle first in cold water ( advice from commercial dairy we visited from college ).
But if was white inside as if paint had been inside it .
I left a note with it ,the milk lady left one for me ,saying the detergent must not have been completely washed out , but—- I don’t want to say no more milk ,they never let you down ,but will leave a note each time it happens .
I threw the milk away.
Just did not fancy it.
Think of me tonight,I will finish my light reading and commence Martin Chuzzelwit !

Phone call that I am due my annual blood check.For my medications ,but they knew nothing about my kidney function blood test or sugar level check ,just
the drugs .
Honestly I am supposed to have a six monthly heart check, it is more than five years since one was done !
But I am still here and OK ,so not worried really.
Wonder if it is OK for me to be with my son in his car to get for the laser treatment at Rochdale .
Still confusion about so much.

I have some tiny little Black IMPS ,Liquorice and menthol.
When I say tiny I mean about a quarter inch square .
They moisten your throat and coughing dioes stop.

Funny you should mention that Roobarb ...the subject did arise and myself and OH said we might be tempted to keep it if we ever found it on the footpath again. ;D
Yes, poodles are popular to breed with other dogs - less or no shedding, soft fur, with the added bonus that they look very cute. In my part of the world they sell for a higher price than the purebreed, and prices for dogs have risen during the pandemic. Parentage and ethics of the breeder are often a concern with fashionable dogs, so research is required.
Viktoria, daughter’s dog is destructive, most partial to expensive tech items, tv controllers, Dyson plugs and the like. I don’t want to jinx it by speaking too soon, but I think she may be displaying less interest, so I am hopeful she is growing out of it. Her parents recently moved house, but in their previous garden they had one of these trees which dropped nuts which the dog liked to open and eat!!!!:
