Title: His majesty's naval service 1796 - 1815
Post by: ShaunWADonaldson93 on Thursday 29 October 20 21:27 GMT (UK)
I found on a family headstone belonging to John Gatt of the Seatown of Pennan that he had been in the navy from 1796 to 1815 but I can't find any service record or anything for him. He was born 18th Feb 1781 at Seatown of Pennan and died 11th July 1854 at Aberdour (Aberdeenshire). I would be really interested if anyone can help shed some light on his action in the Napoleonic wars.

Apologies I had lost trace of that string.
