Title: Does anyone have access to old Cambridgeshire PR's ?
Post by: Mobo on Wednesday 04 November 20 12:03 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find the birth of one, Rose WILLIAMSON b.c 1600, whose father was Henry WILLIAMSON, (Vicar of Conington), but I don't know who her mother was. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  :) :) :) :) :)

According to his will of 1614, Henry's wife's name is Rose.  The only likely marriage I see is in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire on 28 January 1601.  This is on familysearch. Unfortunately the transcription only gives her surname as S. (She might be Rose Seddon d/o John baptised at Bletchley in 1579)

There are baptisms of  a Rose Williamson  at Bletchley on 1 January 1603 (no parents in transcription), and a Grace Williamson d/o Henry on 10 January 1605.
There is a daughter Grace mentioned in Henry's will.

On the plus side, these are the right names and time frame, on the other hand Bletchley is a bit of a hike from Conington, and I think Henry was already vicar of Conington at this time?

The Hunts. baptism index shows baptisms at Conington of Robert (1607) and Henry (1610), sons of Henry Williamson, but no earlier ones.

If it's any help, Rose WILLIAMSON married Stephen NEWCOME in ???, Rector of Caldicote, and their fourth Son was the REV. HENRY NEWCOMBE (b.1627), who was the famous Diarist. Both Rose & Stephen died in 1642.
