Can anybody help please?
My father served with The Royal Signals Regiment during the 2nd world war, stationed in North Africa.
His medical record shows, in 1940, his category is A1.
By 1942 his medical category is B2.
The term A1 is probably self explanatory but what does B2 mean?
Any help would be appreciated.

A1 is a very fit man who has passed all the fitness and medical tests.
He was downgraded due to illness or injury and the code gives his new limitations.
I found this but no time relevance given but it gives you an idea of what it could be.
B2 Able to walk 5 miles, see and hear sufficiently for ordinary purposes

I guess if he could walk 5 miles he wasn't badly injured.
He did however remain B2 until the war end.
