Title: 1684 probate
Post by: Kinsy on Saturday 14 November 20 22:35 GMT (UK)
Attached is the probate paragraph in Latin at the end of a 1684 will.
Can someone please tell me what the word is between "Grahame" and "Graham" ? and what it means ?

Could it be Katherinae Graham e (et?) Marriae Graham? - Katherine and Mary Graham.

Yes, that does make more sense - thanks.
So it probably actually reads "... Katherina e Graham e Mariae Graham ..."

They are ampersands rather than e's.

I think the context is pretty close to this:

...Ad(ministra)t(i)o Commissa

fuit Katherinae & Graham & Mariae Graham Jurat'

Reservat potate ceteris Coex(ecu)toribus in dicto test(amen)to no(m)i(n)at'...
