Title: Maps
Post by: Kerrill on Friday 20 November 20 00:06 GMT (UK)
Is there such a thing as a 1930s  or 1940s  detailed map of Galway Ireland ? the reason I ask is I would like to see a aerial view of a house which no longer exists as it was knocked down around 1945 ish.

Thanks Carol/Don,
unfortunately  the site Don gave me is not much use as there is no or very little detail in the maps (unlike the old ordnance maps) .

http://map.geohive.ie/  (http://map.geohive.ie/) Choose Historic map 25 inch 1888-1913 from the catalogue on the left & zoom right in.  Not the 30's or 40's but might be useful to you.
