have looked high and low on this one !!.
i am looking to locate the birth location of Henry Wilson.
henry was the father of Elizabeth Wilson born 1823/4 at the Ballincollig Barracks, henry was in the R/A
all i know of his wife is Ann. tough one i know.but hopeful

You've started this thread on the CORK board- do you think Henry Wilson himself was born in Cork?
Civil registration of births didn't start until 1864- long after Henry and daughter Elizabeth were born. You haven't given any indication of when Henry might have been born but if he was born in Cork, or even Ireland, you'll need to see if a baptismal record exists. To do this you'll need an idea of birthdate, religion and place (parish if not actual townland)- then you can see if any church records in that area for that period survive (most church records don't go back that far and of those that do not all are online).

Wife Ann Wilson born well before 1800 so Henry probably same age or older. Going by the approx. age of Ann Wilson I wonder if there weren't older children.

no evidence he was born in Cork. just thought of maybe the ballincollig connection. thanks.

You still haven't given any indication of religion. Given Henry's military links a simple google of 'Ballincollig & British Amy' shows that the army was stationed there but that's a long way from establishing Henry's place, or even country, of birth.

the ballincollig records are all correct. and i have the marriage records from James Greer. and giving henry as a carpenter. not sure how this related to him being in ballicollig barracks. its o/k thank you for looking again and your right of course he could have been born elsewhere. brian

It is related to the barracks because that is what you gave and where he was stationed.
On his other daughter’s baptism and marriage he is named Henry Sanderson Wilson and there is also a marriage in that name.
I thought this could be of interest and might help in your research.
