Just to add that the witnesses were John Griffiths and Thomas Griffiths. They might be relatives.  Until 1827, it's not usual for parents' names to be on marriage entries.

thanks for the replies both. she married edward ellis in ruabon in 1832. in the 1871 she is in moreton above aged 70 and here she gives her birthplace as ruabon.but on earlier census records its chirk.
no gadget have never heard of fechan is it a township ?. looking in google i can only find it mentioed near conwy. i think the 1801 looks right the age in the census records are consistent, so your 1801 looks correct. its another very good find ,thanks. brian.

In 1799 , Edward and Eleanor had a daughter, Frances, born in the Penyclawdd township of Chirk.

Penyclawdd is the area of the parish that is to the north of Chirk village, bordering on Llangollen and Ruabon Parishes.

The map here gives the location

Fachwen might be a settlement/house in that area, maybe in the Pentre/Newbridge area.

A son, Edward, was bpt 1808/9 but the entry has been crossed out in the register. (add - an insert has him bpt Jan 1809. The wrong bptism date was given in the original record.)
