My Father W,J,Jones was stationed for a short time at RAF Calshot and on his records it stated Duties or Branch of Service as A.C.H. u/t Inst.Rep and his Archive Ref as Air28_124 (can one advise me what these references mean please. His Rank was AC2 ,(I am aware what this means and his service number was 924665

Inst/Rep = Instrument repairers
ACH appears to have various meanings, depending on which part of the RAF.
ACHU - Aircrew Holding Unit
ACH u/t - Aircraft Holding Unit
or:- ACH: Aircrafthand (a mustering or trade)
-
u/t could mean "under training"

Thank you both your replies, they do make a lot of sense as RAF Calshot was also a seaplane base so no runways. I found a lovely site on the base. I just wish my Father and talked about his time there.
