You mention Married to Joannah Church 1866 (?) is this correct?
In 1851 Alfred A Church is with the family noted as son in law, I guess they mean Step Son.
I think Joanna was probably married before.as mentioned.

On the face of it Christopher and Joannah had been living together as man and wife for several years before they married in 1866.
If you obtain that marriage certificate from the General Register Office;
https://www.gov.uk/general-register-office
that will give you the father's name of the bride and groom and make their baptisms easier to find.
If you haven't used the General Register Office site before - you will need to register first before ordering the certificate.
You will need the information from the details of the marriage;

From Carole's find of Johannah's baptism - her parents are Joseph and Harriot -- they are still in Thurston in 1841. with several children, but not Johannah.
Joseph is a Blacksmith aged 50 (rounded down to nearest 5 years.)

DTBIpswich and Dave Jones,
How wonderful that you are both seeking the same family -- may I ask if you are now just communicating with each other by personal message please - and not returning to this topic, hence no more assistance from other Rootschatters required?
There has been no response from either of you to any information found. (Just asking!)

Thank you all for your input.
I have investigated this detail as much as I can but still failing to find Christopher's parents details.
Will keep looking!
