Hi Folks
I am, and have been for some time, trying to find out the parents of Catherine Hopley or Hobley.
She married Richard Wilson in Nantwich by banns on 23rd January, 1712. They had ten children born although not all survived. Richard died in 1740 in Nantwich. I cannot find a death for her or a baptism anywhere.
Is she on anyone else's tree?

The marriage for this couple on Family Search states 1711 not 1712. The only baptism I could find, although not in Cheshire was for a Katherine Hopley baptised 13/6/1686 Middlesex. Father Thomas, Mother Elizabeth. This would have made her 25 when she married if it was her.

Thank you for the information. I suppose because she was born in Middlesex doesn't mean she stayed there for long.
I have searched the surrounding area for her and the entry in the marriages for Nantwich definitely says Hopley although I could have been persuaded it might have been Hobley (accents do vary things a bit).

I am afraid the child Catherine Hopley died and was buried 25th March 1694.
So I'll have to rethink this one.

This very long run of baptisms of children of Richard Wilson at Nantwich goes on to 13 Dec 1727

Perhaps replacing the Hannah who was baptized in 1725 and died.
It is quite a long way back to the Mary Held marriage, but there seems to be no burial of a Mary before 1739, other than a daughter of a John Wilson in 1706.
No daughter Catherine baptized to Richard in Nantwich
No burial of Catherine, or even a possible widow Wilson, in Nantwich
There were some other Hopley marriages in Nantwich. Perhaps Catherine married a Richard Wilson who was from elsewhere? :-\

Could the twins parents be the couple who married at Nantwich a few years earlier? And thus the Hopley marriage is unconnected to the Richard Wilson baptisms in Nantwich?

Would make her about 19 on marriage to Richard Wilson, and 44 when the second Hannah was baptized in 1727.

Richard Wilson was the son of Richard Wilson therefore Junior would be correct and his marriage to Catherine in January 1711/12 is correct. The twins were their first children as said in the entry and they went on to have more ending in the baptism of the 2nd Hannah in 1727. I have tried to find a baptism for Catherine in the area to no avail. Also I have searched for a subsequent marriage or death for her after Hannah's birth in 1727.

So I haven't seen any indication yet of a Catherine Wilson in Nantwich after the marriage there in 1711/12, only in Marbury.
