Hello, attached is the occupation listed on a death certificate in 1886, it looks to me like Pig Buyer but I wanted to double check - if anyone thinks this looks like something else please let me know.
-
What is his occupation on censuses? Could he be a buyer of pig iron?
-
he died in 1886, not alive for Irish census records
-
Would his wife’s death certificate tell you the name and occupation her husband? :-\
Children’s birth records?
-
I have no other documents to go on, other that his death cert
-
I agree with "pig buyer"
http://www.limerickcity.ie/media/t&c008.pdf Newspaper article mentions pig buyers in Limerick.
-
Could it be “Veg-buyer”?
-
I also think it's Pig buyer.
(e and i are different)

Saw that one Maureen - I think the OP was maybe being extra careful ???
Just to say that I looked at the full page and the P is exactly the same as a P in another entry where the person died of Phthisis

Hello,
I checked the 1901 Irish census for the street that he died on are there are many people living on that street who list their occupation as Pig Buyer, so I believe now that is correct.
