Lydia May Heydock was my great Aunt. I have her Baptism in 1886 along with her brother Norman. She is daughter of Francis Brady Heydock b 1850 Stone House devon and Jessie Nee Friend b 1851 Stone house. I also have Lillian Mary Heydock born 1886 , I have a full profile for her from birth baptism censuses marriage etc and am confident her details are correct. I have Norman with the family in 1911 but no Lydia. I can find nothing else relating to her so my assumption is she died but I cant find a death. Ancestry in the wonderful way it has keeps trying to be give me all Lillian's records for her I am sure they are not one and the same. Can anyone shed any light?

So you definitely have two separate baptisms for 2 different girls?
Do they both have birth registrations, if so what year and quarter?
-
I can see one birth registration
Lilian May Haydock Jun 1886 Wells mothers maiden name Friend
Thinking there was only one.
-
birth reg for Lilian Mary is june qtr 1886. No birth reg for Lydia Mary. Suspect the name on the baptism is a clerical error and should be Lillian.
::)

Only a thought - the 1886 baptism - has the name been incorrectly entered, and it is Lillian Mary, rather than Lydia Mary :-\
Lydia is not included with the family in 1891 census, but Lillian is, as is Norman and other siblings. 1901 census shows Lily, but again no sign of Lydia. :-\

Ancestry have the parish entry for Lilian's marriage:
4 April 1915 - St Francis, Ashton Gate, Bristol
Charles Henry Mitchell, 30, bachelor, Hosier. Father: Charles Alfred (deceased), Warehouseman
Lilian May Heydock, 28, spinster. Father: Francis Brady (deceased), Clerk.
Francis John Heydock is one of the witnesses.

I still think only one as only one birth is registered - under Lilian May. Maybe the parents changed their minds about her names.
Records show birthdate for Lilian as 1 Jun 1886.

Apologies - I can't see a Heydock baptism on your latest clip! Perhaps I ought to visit Specsavers :-[

based on above (CORRECTED Sorry!!) Clip thats a military record of the baptism.... so if is is Lydia now renamed... why isnt there a record of Norman who was Christened at the same time?
-
Again, only a thought - have you checked the military baptisms for Norman? Norman is older than Lilian, so perhaps has an earlier military baptism. Then in 1886 there is a double baptism for "family and friends".
:-\
-
Ok Thanks for directing my thoughts I have now found a Military record for Norman too so it is looking like Lillian and Lydia are one and the same .
I didnt realise you had a church baptism and its was also recorded as a Military record. Do you think i am safe to say she is one and the same person?
-
I'd be 99% sure - but would always bear the possibility in mind of there being two of them.
I'd also look into the possibility of the older children having dual baptisms - :-X
