Given the current situation with Covid, do you think they should postpone this years Census until next year? I believe that Scotland have already announced that they are postponing theirs. Is the risk to great, should they just postpone it a year? There have been rumours that this might be the last ever Census anyway, it would be a shame if it never took place at all.

The census workers are at no more risk than the postmen are,and they've been doing their jobs day in day out sicne last March.

Possibly those that have to return to properties where a census return has not been made are as they will need to interact with the property dwellers.

Won't most of it be done on line anyway - I did the last one that way?

My SiL works on the census. Yes whilst much is done online she still had to visit the properties for which there were no returned forms.
Maybe as it is now 10 years later some other system will be operative.

A lot of it will be done online this year https://census.gov.uk/about-the-census/about-census-2021/
I worked on it in 1981,91 and 2001.
