I am looking at a death report in the newpaper of a lady who had died "at Francis Hay, near Salisbury" in 1940.
In 1939 she is at "longhigg" Shaftesbury Road, Wilton according to the transcription.
Just out of interest,, can anyone identify these locations? Google Maps isn't too much help :(

Are you able to give us a name for this person

First of all, Salisbury is in Wiltshire, so I will move this post to the right board. :)
Shaftsbury Road in Wilton is the main A30 west.

I have now read her Probate Record and it is actually Cherry Croft, Francis Way, Salisbury, so I have located that road, I wonder if the house still exists.
It is Ethel Mary Whitemore, and sister Olive Jessie, living together in 1939.
I am also told they were both buried in Wilton Churchyard and Cemetery, according to the Wiltshire Memorial Inscription Index, but I can't find anything further, have looked on findagrave.

Oops - just seen it's moved to Wiltshire, my mistake - thank you

I googled the Cherry ... address and it does appear to exist postcode SP2 8EF

Have looked on Postcode Finder and it is number 12 Francis Way.
Any ideas re the other address "longhigg" Shaftesbury Road, Wilton
Thanks for your help, it is always lovely to identify where someone actually lived.
