Can anyone make out this occupation abbreviation on the top line ? It's taken from the 1841 census and is for a 15 year old boy. top right box

If you tell us who it is and where they can be found in 1841 we can compare it with other entries on the adjoining pages

Looks more like "Asst"  (assistant)

Can you post a link to the census page or tell us where to find it?

I would opt for Asst (Assistant) just based on what we can see in this clip. 
What is the occupation of the person/people above? Is it something that you would expect to have an assistant?

"Asst" to me too. What was the occupation of the head of household?
