Hi im trying to find out more about my Great Grandmother, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Kiely b.1872 31st March.
She married Joseph Steacy b 1871 (Wexford) on July 5th 1898 at St Mary's Clonmel. Her address at the time was given as Cross Street, Clonmel, and her father's name was Nicholas Kiely, the wedding was witnessed by a Sarah Kiely (dont know what relation, if any, she was to the married couple).
Joseph was in the Royal Irish Regiment and they went on to live in Kilkenny City, County Kilkenny where they had Robert Steacy, Joseph Steacy, John Steacy(died aged 3yrs), Esther Gray (nee Steacy) and Thomas Steacy (my Grandfather).
Joseph snr died 1929 and is buried at St Canice's Kilkenny alongside his son John.
I can find no more information on Elizabeth Kiely, her mother, brothers or sisters nor grand parents nor where she went after the death of her husband. I hope someone can help .
Thanks

Welcome to Rootschat :)
Here is John Kiely b 1872 which would question Elizabeth’s date of birth. Mother is Emily Boyce.

I am having great trouble finding a marriage for Nicholas and Emily.
You would be best to search for other births to them as they seem to be spread over a number of years. What I can see from those births, seems that Nicholas was a shoemaker, then, a shoemaker in the asylum - was he employed or an inmate?
There is a death for Nicholas Kiely, 62 yrs in 1889- a shoemaker who dies in the asylum. :-\

Wow !! You guys are amazing finding this stuff so quickly i cant keep up with you.
With regards Eliza's children we think Joseph went to Belfast then America, Robert went to Christchurch, England. Thomas also went to England Wiltshire, Somerset. Not sure where Esther ended up nor are we sure where Mother Eliza ended up.
Thanks again guys
-
Just remembered, that Esther and Robert Steacy went to Hampshire and both married brother and sister Gray !!
-
I would really be interested to know where Eliza ended up and died.
-
I was wondering if she had gone to live with any of the children. That’s why I asked re their destinations,

This would be John & Susan’s marriage entry
