Title: Who was Emelie Chapman in Marquette County, Wisconsin
Post by: Erato on Sunday 24 January 21 17:35 GMT (UK)
I wonder if someone with access to the not-for-free sites can find any information [birth or death, parents] on Emelie [sic] Chapman who is buried in the cemetery at Moundville, Marquette County, Wisconsin.  Since there are no dates or other information on the marker, I'm guessing she died in early childhood.  All of the Chapmans at Moundville are related to me but I can't figure out whose child Emelie was.  She was probably born in Wisconsin between 1849 and 1900.

I didn't find anything at ancestry.com.
Is it the Moundville United Methodist Church Cemetery? If so, the state genealogy society says they have a transcription for $4.50. Have you seen that already?

Thanks for looking.  Yes, that's the right cemetery.  I doubt it's worth ordering a transcription since there apparently was nothing to transcribe except the name.  I guess she'll have to remain a mystery for now.  Someone has been diligently photographing Marquette County cemeteries and I have found recently added photos of several family members including one other small child previously unknown to me.
